You know, it's weird how the smallest detail can improve the quality of a fight so much, to me at least.
I was reading Negima, and got to the Graf Herman fight, who seemed to be something of a boxer in combat, and when he punched, his guard was always kept up, never breaking stance. A lot of manga/anime/comic fights make that mistake, having fighters sort of just throw haymakers without keeping their guard, while trying to pass them off as great fighters.
That level of realism just sort of made the fights he was in all the more enjoyable.
