That's not 5 KM/s.
Yes it is. It takes Genisis one minute to fall, coupled with the fact that Sephiroth gave him a boost at the beginning of the fall and near the end it has to be at least 5 Kilometers.

I was honestly not impressed.
What was unimpressive about it?

I looked at that video as you can see, and Zant never moves at 5 kilometers per second nor does he attack (Like, his actual attack) as fast as Sephiroth.
How disasterous was the aftermath of this move by Sephiroth? I mean, five kilometers per second would mean that Sephiroth (If we apply science) would inflict significant damage to both the land and his travel would effect the very air he passes through.

The attack wasn't moving at the speed of light. The movement to get to the new position, was.
Teleportation isn't a speed feat. Because you aren't physically moving, it's not a case of speed but rather a matter of defying time and space. The rate of travel through teleport is based on time and not space. It's based on the time between your departure of position A and arrival at position B. Since you aren't taking up space, speed isn't applied.
The only limitations to the rate of teleportation (Both in terms of distance and time between distance) comes down to your capability with this particular ability rather than the particular ability itself.

I'm confused about that, he sent Genesis flying downwards, so that means that Sephiroth can attack/move at 5 kilometers per second?
As for the attacking thing, I was expecting a lot more from Sephiroth out of that. Why does he not do that against his opponent?
Does the ******* ever take a fight seriously?
Link has a snowball's chance in Hell against Sephiroth.

Hell has frozen over.
So you're comparing a /movie/ to soem gameplay. Let me put it this way, if I put that video of Link next to Sephiroth WAITING HIS TURN, Sephiroth wouldn't look so hot.
Link in canon has thrown objects in excess of a thousand tons with relative ease. |: He could pop Sephiroth by throwing an apple at him.

No, he hit Genesis up five kilometers then one second later was hitting Genesis back down.
Like what?
No, the creators have said we have never seen Sephiroth trying although depending on the person he will either not try at all (Cloud) or just make sure he always has the upper hand (Genesis, Angeal).

Some people on this forum define teleportation as: Breaking oneself down(into like...atoms or something?) and moving at or greater then the speed of light, so they are moving it is just you cannot see the movement because light waves don't have time to bounce off or something. There can still be movement and speed applied.
I used to say it was instant but...

Lol, if you did that Sephiroth would absolutely obliterate Link.
Sephiroth has stopped meteor destroying\severe planetary destructive spells with his mind.
Not to mention can move planets.
Also, survive atmospheric re-entry and colliding with a planet.
