STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Descent

Okay, I have my notes! And the Malik's name is... the Malik. He is only known by his title.

Is Con going to bail from the warehouse to consider what route he is going to take?

He will ask the Malik how he is supposed to meet up with the twins again, or if they will accompany him right now.

The Malik says you'll stop by the warehouse again when you're ready. If you fail to show up again, he will just send the Twins after you.

That's fair. I will then make my way back to my apartment and contact Clarion.

Clarion receives your message; she is on Uridia III.

"Con," Clarion greets curtly. "What news on tracking the signal? Has anything more happened with the Syndicate?"

"Yes, a lot has happened. I cracked the signal and found the Malik. And the twins. He has the Votive, too. I can get close to him, but...he gave me a mission I am worried about. He wants me to kill Joon. I think I might try to talk to Joon again...maybe we can fake his death..."

Clarion's brow furrows and you sense her worry.

"Do not undertake that mission, Con," Clarion says. "That is a dangerous path you walk, one that leads to the Dark Side. The Votive itself is not worth such damnation! Faking Joon's death is beyond our capabilities, the Syndicate has too many spies that can confirm actual events. We must protect him."

"I need to get the twins. I need to get the Votive back. I will find a way"

"Your emotions are clouding your thoughts," Clarion says. "Should you pursue your grudge match with the Thieves or try to secure the Votive on your own by such nefarious routes as the Malik would like, you put everything at risk. Wait until I return to Luon! Xeth will meet us soon."

"What could you do? I have the perfect opportunity, and it will close itself soon"

"Con, think of the consequences of killing Joon," Clarion says. "And think hard! What would Master Raskae say?"

"I don't want to kill Joon. But I am doing this for Raskae. The Medrauds will have to pay for what they did. I don't see what you or Xeth could do, by the time you will be here the opportunity will be gone"

"The Medrauds must be brought to justice, not be made to pay the price for assaulting your Master," Clarion says. "We have collected enough evidence against the Syndicate through your work and mine. We can take the Malik down."

"I see." Con says "Then I know what I have to do. May the force be with you, Master Breshene"

I assume there is some safe thing Breshene and I store our stuff and data that's not my apartment? Seeing how the Malik knows where I live?

Clarion has taken the majority of the evidence off-world for safe keeping. The hacked communicator is the exception; you still have it.

Okay, I will take that with me. I will go back to the warehouse then.

You don't need the equipment you used any more; you unhook the communicator and pocket it.

You return to the Malik's warehouse; this time, the guards step aside to let you walk in, uniform or no. They know who you are this time and they give you a wide berth.

I will head to the Malik and tell him I am ready.

"I knew you would see things my way," the Malik says, with a warm smile. "Imagine how much trouble you have saved me! And imagine how much you have to gain here! Help me gain power from the Votive and you can take part in the Syndicate. A grand reward, I should think."

He summons the Twins, as ever dressed in their muddy brown leather clothing and armed with their pistols and knives and dart launchers.

"We are ready, Malik," they say, simultaneously.

"Good. Now, Con, you have been to Joon's complex, have you not?"

"I have" Con nods.
