I thought the Tumbler was a one off proto-type that was destroyed in TDK.
So why would Wayne Industries make more that would lead to Bane taking one...?

That's one thing I never agreed or liked about Nolan's Bat-verse is bringing the Dark Knight into day time.I mean the concept of a night time vigilante has worked in comics since Bob Kane wrote & invented Batman...it's never been an issue I've questioned reading comics, that night & Batman simply go hand in hand.
As big as a Batman fan I am, he can & does appear "odd-looking" when seen in daylight & not hidden in shadows. He simply looks like a guy in costume & there's nothing scary about that.
I agree with this comment. When compared to Tim Butons 89 costume, this costume is not even that scary to start with. To have it flashed out in daylight just looks silly. I've been "stoned" for doubting Nolan in the past, but this is just what I believe. A grown man in a costume in daylight just looks silly. Its works at night b/c the night brings out the spooky side of it. You can see too much in daylight. He may as well be fighting crime in a Darth Vader constume...lol
The '89 costume was great back then for its time, but it just looks too hulky or hard to move around in by my standards now, lol.. Regardless, I'm sure this movie will still have its fair share/majority of night time action. Basically all of Batman Begins from what I remember, and the most impacting/climactic parts of TDK, happened during the night, so I don't see what the big fuss is over maybe one or two scenes happening during day time...

He's gonna have to come out in the daytime though. As comical as it would be to show, doubtfu Bane and Catwoman are gonna be sittin' there counting the mins till sunset waitin' for shit to go down.
On that same level of thought...No one's ever questioned Superman for which crimes & acts of good he chooses to prevent or accomplish on a world-wide scale.
I mean it's also a characteristic of Bruce Wayne to sleep & rest during the day as he "works" at night.
He is still mortal & still needs to rest & heal from any of his injuries.
It's also a further given that he does his "detective work" in the Batcave during the day & takes action at night.

I guess it depends on what characteristics you like more about Batman. I've always been drawn to the bat-like creature that superstitious villains are afraid of. A spooky creature that lurks in the night, almost like an assassin or ninja. The more secretive his appearance the better that side works for me. This is why I don't like an appearance during the day, due to the fact that I'm so drawn to the mythical characteristic side of Batman.
The Bat toy: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=89525
If this toy is an indicator of a potential spoiler, it is that Batman will be launched out of The Bat and fly to his death, lol.
