I don't see how it'll upset him, the only way that could happen is if you worded it wrong.

I think it's fairly logical to say "look friend, you've been coming here for the past such and such days and you stay for a while, me and Sarah want to do are own thing and we can't while you are here." I'm guessing you have to stay in all the time while he's their which limits what you can do each day.

The only way he couldn't accept that is if he wasn't mentally stable.
