Well they can tell if you're unsure of your self. Happened to me when I was younger. I absolutely hate approaching people when rejection is a very real possibility.
Mostly, I just conversed with them over time to get to the know them. Eases the tension a bit and you get to know someone to make a better decision as to whether they are really relationship worthy.

i'm not trying to put you down man. you seem like a really sensitive and artistic type of guy. we can only be authentic to who we are.I was a sensitive kid. I was forced to be a little Dr. Phil for my grown parents and relatives. I was barely double digits in age before I realized their problems are self created bullshiit. it took me a while to see that in myself also.
there is nothing to feel bad about. it serves no good for you or others around you.
your "mistake" is nothing. life goes on. the sun will come up. the grass will grow. it's not complicated.
in 10 years you can be a financially well off and suave 35 year old. you don't need any attachment to limit your mobility in life. what you can have in 10 years will blow away what is in your head now. you don't have the vision yet. but you will see things once you clear your head of the clutter and negative emotions
I'm planning on just dedicating the rest of my 20s to self-improvement so that by my mid 30s I'll be like you say, well-off and suave. I think I have it in me, just took a while to get to admitting it might take longer than expected.
Idk what your opinions on therapy are but I'm going for that soon. I think it could be useful just to exorcise some of the useless self-hate and the like.

Once a woman gets to know me, she realises I'm essentially one big walking red flag, and then, if she's sensible, she gets the **** out of dodge
Originally posted by RaisenYeah hate is a useless emotion, serves barely any purpose at all. Just gotta do what you do and let people do the same, I guess.

Pretty much me in my current relationship. Get over and enjoy love while you can.

We are. I still have feelings of worthlessness and thoughts about why anyone would date me. But I stopped giving them any worth.
