Then I guess you would balance it by making magic resistant creatures then?

Indeed, that does happen, but there are different elements and they usually aren't resistant to them all. Plus there are also spells of pure magical force. You also have spells to strip magical protections and lower magical resistances.

This reminds me a lot of playing Baldurs Gate 2. You absolutely needed to have spells to strip powerful enemies of their protections.

Also, 'Wish' is ****ing mental.

Indeed, the Wish spell is the reason I'd make sure my mage characters had a decent score of Wisdom in BG2.

^ I guess this theme is across many games. DA for example. Mages suck early on but become nearly unfair as the game progresses until nerfed. Hell even the FF games follow this sometimes. lol Vivi in FF9 was the man after awhile.

Yep, you gotta work for it. I liked FF9 and Vivi. I remember then fighting him in Kingdom Hearts 2.

Vivi was pretty shit right at the end, though. His best spell harms the party as much as the enemy. I was mega disappointed because I'd used him all through the game before then. Quina on the other hand, with its ****ing Frog Drop spell, that was pure overpowered glory.

Well Quina, and the red haired guy could effectively be your healer slash death dealer towards the ned. With Vivi I rocked Holy and spammed whatever status effect would land.

I had a pretty good team of Zidane, Steiner, Quina, and BG Freya

I had Frog Drop doing 7000 damage every time it hits. Which is ****ing madness. Get ****ed, Necron, you big blue ****.

Well now you've just gone and reminded me of Chrono Trigger.

Bum fister

Been meaning to play that for literally 13 years

I was on the grind until both Ellie and Garnet had all of their summons and ridiculous MP. Then Zidane and Vivi to attack in between summons.

games are hard

I spammed thief so much that the theivery skill made Zidane do like 8-9K damage plus what ever status effect your sword does.

Ellie? Do you mean Eiko? I remember her being pretty decent. My team was pretty low on healers for some reason, but I was like 12 and not very tactically minded back then

Not as hard as they used to be. Super Ghouls n Ghosts made me feel like the greatest gamer ever when I finally beat it. Games now have so many convenient save points that you can run through them relatively quickly.

It's an awesome game. Even a crappy PC from the 90s could easily run it on an emulator.

Yes, my bad. I always rename my characters so I forget the names sometimes. Eiko had all the status healing/protection guardians and Garnet had the damage type guardians. If it weren't for Zidane, my team would get crushed by a magic resistant group though.
