Snow EVERYWHERE!

Snowwwww

On way to work

I’m wondering how dead it will be in the office

Most of the staff come from pretty far away

thats barely snow

It’s loads for here.

We don’t get Canada snow

There’s a picket line over the road outside the college

Worst day to picket on

Doubt many students will be in so being on strike won’t make much of a difference

What are they protesting? Is someone with opposing views supposed to give a talk that students are in no way required to attend? Since that kinda stuff sets off the snowflakes.

I like how in your world, all university students or just anyone 25 and under is a 'snowflake'

Nice view of the world you got there bud

But no, there are strikes and protests going on in many UK universities right now due to a bunch of different reasons, e.g. universities suffering cutbacks and insufficient funding while the bosses and board members still get millions of pounds a year for doing naff all.

The pension scheme changed too and loads of lecturers are basically being robbed of their retirement money, so the staff are striking too, not just the students

I'm not 100% sure on all the details but I've been hearing about it all going on from various friends at a bunch of different unis.

Sorry, not 'friends', I mean 'snowflakes'.

"The chief executive of the lecturers’ pension scheme at the centre of a university strike received a 17% pay rise worth an extra £82,000 this year.

Bill Galvin’s pay package had risen from £484,000 to £566,000, said a spokeswoman for the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS).

Running costs for the university pension scheme were over £124m per year - including two staff earning over £1m.

Mr Galvin has described the pension scheme as “excellent value”.

The pensions scheme now has a £6bn deficit and striking lecturers say that plans to tackle the shortfall will cut their retirement income by £10,000 per year."
