The weird thing is these award shows are kinda like late night tv, it used to be watchable, but in the era of Trump that all changed.

I sometimes watch old episodes of Johnny Carson and think "some of these shows aired during some serious times in this country, yet he was never as whiny or preachy as people today are".

Miss you Johnny. Hell, even Jay Leno and David Letterman are missed.

Indeed, we're in an era where you don't need to watch a show to watch a show. Any comments about Trump or virtue signaling will have entire articles dedicated to it. We're definitely, no matter what, going to get articles about how the men in attendance just didn't do enough for women(they never do). It used to be you'd just find out the next day what people wore. Now it's news if they say anything snarky or virtue signal-ish.

Reminds me of how any anti Trump SNL skits have entire articles dedicated to them the following day.
