She had some, but it was too low to count her as a Native American by set standards.
Not really her fault, she grew up being told she was part NA, happens all the time with faily lore passed down.
eg My wife grew up believing she was at least 25% Russian and that her great grandma was a full bloodied Chickasaw NA (Missouri Tribe). DNA test showed she has 1% or less Russian and zero Chickasaw NA. She has 4% Mexican Indian though.

This is the thing. No race is better than another, but some cultures are better than others. And by "better" I mean, "more capable of functioning without outside assistance". No culture is impervious to internal decay, but plenty hold up better than the vast majority. That isn't hard to believe, as few of any thing you can imagine is "good" in the structural sense of the word
