There's something almost supernatural about Landa I think. Like he probably didn't even realise what he was doing but it was perfectly terrible for the moment

I'm not a huge fan of the actual Basterds themselves but all the rest of the stuff in that film is great. I kinda wish they weren't in it, and it was just about those central characters. Landa is so good, Waltz is an absurdly talented actor

I'm kind of on-off with Tarantino. I prefer his milder works: my favourites are Jackie Brown and The Hateful Eight. PF is a classic though obviously

Preach. The first time I watched Basterds, my DVD was a pirated version and didn't have subtitles. So I watched that entire bar scene without knowing what anybody was saying. Guess what? Just as tense and nerve-wracking, that's how well-directed that scene is
