Nearly 80 People Shot In Chicago, 15 Of Them Killed, In July 4th Weekend Violence Since Late Friday

cry

Well that was a devastatingly sad read 🙁

Especially the 7 year old girl 😔 just playing with friends... it’s so wrong

Her life mattered. And they snuffed out her light. It wasn't even really a drive-by, people got out of the car and began to shoot in her direction. They were on steady ground, not in a moving vehicle.

And you had another kid who just graduated 8th grade.

And I thought London had a bad weekend with 2 shootings and 6 stabbings awehuhd

And we had 1,200 extra cops out on the streets too and yet still look at what happened.

Was any of it near you?

Like do you hear gunshots on the daily?

That’s kinda how I picture Chicago based on documentaries I’ve seen about the gun crime

Looking at the list some non-fatal shootings were close. The closest fatal shooting it seems was 22 blocks away. Actually that is in the neighborhood my family lived in until I was 12.

I was not home for the night of the 4th of July but even if I was I doubt I would have been able to distinguish gunshots from fireworks.

No I don't hear gunshots every day or anything like that. U gotta realize some parts of Chicago are worse then others and even just a difference of a few blocks can mark a radical change in terms of safety and crime. One thing that has kept my neighborhood from getting as bad as some other places is I live near a major airport(at one point it was the busiest in the world). So the city isn't ever gonna let it turn into a ghetto.

The full shortlist for my 2000s playlist is 1661 songs long

Wtf is wrong with people

The worst part is that there isn't anything to indicate this is anything out of the ordinary, it doesn't say like "worst weekend in the past five years" or anything like that

We did have something like that back in late May for Memorial Day weekend though.

More murders this year during that weekend, while a pandemic is going on, than we had in the past 4-5 years for the same weekend.

That looks pretty hype, what console do you play? Or are you PC?

I play that game on PC, but it is also on PS4 and Xbox One.

Unfortunately I have not been able to keep my consoles up to date, I do not own a ps4 or xbox one.

PC is better anyway right

Yeah, and PC games can be modded a lot of the time.

Though there will always be titles that are exclusive to consoles and never come to PC. So I hope to eventually get another console. The last one I played was xbox 360.
