Inception

One question I have is why didn't Arthur wake up with the first kick when van drove off the bridge. I understand why the others didn't because they were in another dream but he was awake on that level. Can he choose to not wake up or is it a small plot hole?

The van kick was for them all to wake up back from the van and into the plane.

Arthur would have woken from the hotel dream into the van dream when he blew the elevator/lift.

I think.

Well, I think his question is also about another point:

Arthur chose to stay behind to help wake the others up and protect them from Fischer's projections.

Someone had to stay behind in all the levels of the dream. Yusuf to drive the van and implement the kick, Arthur in the hotel to implement the kick.

😆 😆 😆

I know this guy is a sock troll of some sorts, but that's just damn funny.

Interesting little tidbit about the music of Inception. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVkQ0C4qDvM

Well time does move slower in dream so it makes sense. Even the music relates to the movie somehow.

I disagree: time goes faster in a dream.

Edit - The exception is Lucid Dreams. Time is relatively the same..as far as perception goes.

I wasnt WOWed like I was when I first saw Matrix but it was very good.

comparing Inception to the Matrix is like comparing The Godfather to Dumb and Dumber.

Except The Matrix (first film only) was good, while Dumb and Dumber is silly toilet humor.

Nah.

I liked the Matrix much more than Inception.

I liked the 2nd and 3rd films more than Inception, as well. 😉

Dumb and Dumber is better than Inception, IMO. It's a really good, classic, comedy, flick. Up there with the best of them. (top 30, of my list, probably.)

Inception may be lucky to count itself in my top 100 list. TDK is still Nolan's best.

Dumber and Dumber is one Jim Carrey's funnier roles.. there never should've been a sequel

agreed although i loved Inception and will see it again, TDK is definitely still Nolan's best.. well maybe until Batman 3 comes out 😄

Inception was very good, I will have to watch it again to make judgement if its better than TDK or not. Right now TDK is better.

Man that was mindblowing...what a movie. Best time at the cinema in years..... totally engaging on every level.
I totally regretted not seeing Blade Runner or Total Recall at the cinema, having my mind blow by the depth and existential dilemmas and so forth content as well as the amazing visuals/whole other world immersion...tonight, 20 years after Total Recall I felt a little of what that must have felt like with this movie.
And Im really jaded nowadays...but that movie showed me so much id never seen before.
Kudos to that Nolan cat..he churned out a true classic.

IMO Matrix had more depth, however that was planned for 3 films and this one..

Spoiler:
possible for more.

The 1st Matrix had depth.

The second were just convoluted. Thats not deep.

The third was just one big pile of 'mehhhhhhhh' from start to finish.

Inception is a really good movie.

I saw it over a week ago now and thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the ending, which to me was a throwback to a classic movie ending.

I saw Memento for the first time a few days later, which was also good. And The Dark Knight was frigging amazing - i als saw this a few days after seeing Inception.

Nolan is brilliant. The Dark Knight and Inception are huge hits. I reckon Superman will top both of them.

More "realistic" dreams. Better correlations between dreams. Slightly different motivations. Less of a cop-out ending and less ambiguity (ambiguity works, to an extent). Better action.

I liked Revolutions the best out of the three.

Dumber and Dumber'er:

I laughed really hard when Bob Saget said, "He sh*t EVERYWHERE! He sh*t on the WALLS!" etc. That part was so funny. Then, at the end, when Harry was covered in mud and bounced on Bob Saget's car hood, it was funny when Bob said "Why are you so SH*TTY?!?!"
