"Glad I could help! Now with that chapter finalized -"
She wasn't done, it seemed, and when she wrapped her arms around his strong neck, he found himself curious as to her intentions. He soon got his answer when she kissed him again, this time as passionate as any they had shared earlier. Responding out of instinct, he took a sharp breath, almost losing himself in this most intimate of acts.
While the kiss was distracting, Peter could feel the texture and taste of her lips change, and his eyes snapped open. She had changed back to the form she had been in when he first met her. He was not impressed.
"- Nokia gets a kiss of her own for the road. Thank you, handsome"
Peter said nothing, the realisation finally dawning on him that he had probably just made a huge mistake. She wasn't his Katya, and while he didn't exactly fit the stereotype of being a clingy person, her ability to become Katya, even temporarily, was something that Peter couldn't help but think about revisiting in the future. That temptation stuck with him, no matter how much he wanted to tell himself that this was wrong, and that he should forget about it.
He couldn't, though. She'd been his Katya. Her scent, her taste, everything was as it should be. Every argument he'd made with himself that she wasn't the woman he'd loved had been shattered by all those things that made her the woman he'd loved. He was torn... Utterly and completely torn.
He just didn't let it show as he headed for the seat that he had once occupied. When he sat down, he didn't look at her, even when the jet landed with a soft thud. As he switched off everything, he bit his lip softly, wondering what to say to her. When he did speak, it probably wasn't what he should have said.
"I'm sure the others will be waiting for us," he said standing up.
Another one for the road? Nah. He really didn't want to push his luck. If she was paying attention to him, she could probably see that while he did want her, he was doing his best to restrain himself and act like a gentleman. He didn't know if she'd appreciate the gesture, but he did it anyway. Plus, she didn't look like Katya anymore, and that was something of a relief, as he didn't want to see the others react to the sudden appearance of Katya among them, even if it was not real...
