"Huff....huff....huff"
There was a splash of water as a young boy in white sneakers ran through a puddle, his coat billowing behind his full-sprint.
The night was just beginning in the city. The streets began to grow quieter as people began locking their doors, and laying with their loved ones. But for Koh Dean, the next phase of his life was just beginning. Everything was about to change for him.
And he was about to change everything.
As he ran down the alleyways, he could hear the heavy footsteps of his pursuers. He couldn't stop. He wouldn't. He wished he could jump, but not just yet. He had to get further away from this particular assailant. He needed to increase the distance. He needed to-
He turned a corner and crashed into an ill-placed trash can. He felt himself tumbling and he landed hard on the concrete. Pain shot up his arm and he thought he could feel his jacket growing wet. He couldn't tell if that was from the rain, or if it was his own blood. No time to check. Koh got up and was about to take off again when he heard a voice from behind him.

The killers eyes grew wide as the realization that Koh was about to jump crossed their mind.
"N-no! DONT!"
There was a sharp crack, and what sounded as an electrical surge as the spiky-haired boy with the grey/blue hair disappeared in a wave of energy.
He was gone.

There was a second sharp crack as Koh Dean of Chicago appeared out of nowhere in a small suburb. The people around him didn't seem to notice this walk-ins appearance, and Koh quickly walked amongst the crowd to blend in. With this time, he felt the wet spot on his jacket. He sighed with relief when he saw that it was only water.
He didn't know what his first step would be, now that he was here. Everything looked off to him, and he was contemplating whether or not he should find a hotel and lay low for a few days, when he heard his stomach give a low chortling growl. With a grimace, he rubbed his empty belly and smiled.
"Well I guess FOOD is a good idea right? Gotta keep my strength up!" He said this outloud, oblivious of the eyes staring at his sudden exclamation.
He looked around, and the first thing he saw looked like a Pizza place. He placed his mittened hands in his pockets and crossed the busy street, hearing the dinging bell as he entered the small pizzeria....
