Swine Flu

Oh my, you resent it badly?

3 times maybe? Anyways, way worse killers than Swine Flu.

That...might just be the most ridiculous analogy I've ever heard.

Either way, the major issue from my point of view here is hysteria rather than a dangerous disease, cause it doesn't seem that bad. And all that crying wolf really doesn't help all that much.

I'm not ruling it out.

There's even adverts about Swine Flu now, that's more than the foot n mouth, mad cow disease scares had.

You can lay back and watch thousands of people die, I don't care, you're a giant dick.

If something has the potential to kill many people, that's a problem.

Indeed, the hysteria is ridiculous and quite counterproductive.

Don't be silly, it's not like you are doing anything, nor that there aren't much more worthy causes, anyways.

That's because Foot and mouth and BSE only make livestock inedible. It's almost impossible to catch either as a human.

Swine flu has also now been proven to be a relatively mild strain of flu...far less potent than avian flu (H5N1) and even normal flu which is continuously pandemic in humans

So thousands of people wont die. Infact it's now being said that the worst of it is over.

As soon as I heard H1N1, I knew it was not as bad as people were thinking. I don't really know a lot about it, but I saw a TV show on the topic. It seemed to me that the higher the number after the H or N the worse the flu was. Can anyone confirm that?

He's seen more of my posts lately than you have. He just flew off the handle, incorrectly. It happens. No harm done. 😐

Atleast, when in here anyway. Your posts generate stupidity whether you're joking or not, so it's hard to tell.

lulz

If we wanted stupidity, we'd look at your posts or the youtube vids you've posted of you and your buddies.

Dadudemon, you aren't making me angry, just annoying me.

It's subtle, but if you keep at it you will have learned the difference and yes, even some more basic English, in no time.

Not neccesarily true...H1N1 was what caused the most fatal pandemic in the last century...the so called "Spanish flu" but a lot has changed since 1918 in terms of treatment, vaccines and antiviral drugs hence it just isn't the problem it once was.

It really annoys me that the media is reporting on nearly every single case. They never report on anyone having normal flu so why this?

Answer?....Scaremongering and trying to get people to spend money on antiviral drugs.

And ratings/money. When your source of information is telling you might die but not give you enough information, where do you go to get more information?

People watch the news anyway...ratings rarely fluctuate to any great extent unless it's something massive like the tsunami or 9/11 and then ratings go up across the board for all news stations.

When your source of information is telling you you might die then have the sense to go to your doctor and they'll tell you your source of information is full of shit.

One of the 1st documented cases of this outbreak was an 8 year old boy in Mexico...he recovered in 3 days by staying in bed, drinking water and sleeping...No medicine even taken.

One of the 1st documented cases in the UK the person with it was hanging out of his bedroom window talking to the media about his quarantine. Hardly the sign of someone on the verge of dieing from flu is it?

Here's some choice examples from a few minutes of searching for information on the virus

the first genetic analysis of how well this virus transmits from person to person concludes that it spreads barely well enough to keep itself going.

from

http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn17072-first-genetic-analysis-of-swine-flu-reveals-potency.html

Analysis done so far suggests what they are dealing with is a mild virus and nowhere near as dangerous as the H5N1 avian flu strain that has caused scientists so much concern over the past decade.

But this kind of information doesn't scare people into buying Tamiflu or Relenza.

Then don't talk out of your ass.

Here's a tip: If you know just a little about a subject, preface it with "I am no expert, but I think the following:" or something.

It's not hard. That will save you from saying retarded things like "The human body has no natural defenses against the swine flu."

OUCH! Dude..Woah. Ouch. That's harsh, man.

Still, I understand where Shaky's coming from. From a certain point of view, annoyance could be a form/source of anger.

In other words:

Not all "angries" are "annoyances", but some "annoyances" are "angries."

it's caused some people some grief but its alot of paranoia and overblown.

Avian/Bird Flu? Mad Cow Disease? Anthrax? Y2K?

😆 "One of these things is not like the other" 😆

I think the hysteria over Pig Flu is just getting ridiculous. I work in a GP Surgery and they recently handed out some leaflets about it, which I think were worded incorrectly, as according to that, this whole thing is a Government conspiricy. Fair play, but couldn't they have just invented Chav Flu? LOL

One can only hope 😛

Hate to be random again, but how long is this Indian lezbo banner going to run?? I've clicked it and I'm still waiting to "live the lifestyle I've always dreamed of!"

whoops

Theres been a lot about this virus being just media hype, government scare tactics etc, this explanation highlights the possible danger.

I basically said the same thing...in less words, about the "out of proportion" thing. I wonder where he is getting his numbers because I could only find 20000 for the US.

Anyway. Nice vid. I like this guy's thinking.
