Regardless, the DLC's been delayed and pushed back for some months. How disappointing.

How do you know it would've been shitty if it was released the end of this month like it was originally supposed to?

Well, why do you think they delayed it then? Simply to piss people off? Maybe they get a kick out of that.

This announcement wouldn't have been that disappointing if it had come sooner than the day before it's original projected release date. It's also insulting that the only explanation they give is that they want to wait until closer to, Spring. It's already Spring, how much more Spring can you get? It's very very frustrating that it has taken this long to get a DLC. L4d has been out since November 2008 and received both, commercial and critical acclaim, yet the only Dlc we have gotten thus far was a lackluster campaign and useless, survivor mode. It wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't made a barrel full of promises but when there are other games out there, like, Fallout and Borderlands that are receiving consistent DLC packages it makes one wonder what exactly, Valve is doing. I think they're pushing the DLC back because of MW2 dlc.

I appreciate taking time to work out bugs and deliver a quality product but how hard is it to put together a few campaigns to keep the fans busy for the bigger DLC?

Blimey, you think that was sarcasm? It was simple mockery. Learn to tell the difference before you criticise. You deserved the comment because your question to smas was pretty silly- CLEARLY if it was good enough for release they would release it, ergo if they released it now it would be rubbish.

This stuff is clearly very difficult to make, what with the AI scripting required etc.

Yeah, I understand where y'all are coming from (though being late doesn't guartantee that it'll be bug-free), but like rages said, they could've announced the delay sooner ahead of time than waiting until the last day before the DLC's original release... That was really the only thing that irked me here (not so much the delay itself), having anticipated The Passing all this month only to find out at the last minute that it was pushed back another month or two. I guess they didn't know they would need more time with the DLC until the last day or so. lol

I'm fine so long as no Left 4 Dead 3 is announced....at least not scheduled for release this year.

No, it's all about Portal 2 this year and then Ep 3 next year.
