i read that somewhere too...but such is Valve. They keep us waiting but do we complain when we get the final product? I certainly don't.

Yeah, I understand where y'all are coming from (though being late doesn't guartantee that it'll be bug-free), but like rages said, they could've announced the delay sooner ahead of time than waiting until the last day before the DLC's original release... That was really the only thing that irked me here (not so much the delay itself), having anticipated The Passing all this month only to find out at the last minute that it was pushed back another month or two. I guess they didn't know they would need more time with the DLC until the last day or so. lol

Ah well.

No, man. You're golden. We have a damn right to be pissed off and annoyed at Valve. They ALWAYS do this. YES!, they stated an official release date. It was stated very clearly. Yes, it's expected that official games be pushed back a few weeks or months but they announced this DLC way back in the winter. That was PLENTY of time to work this shit out. Seriously. I love Valve. I have nothing but love for them. I only complain because i love them so much. The more they keep pulling this douche bag shit, the more we defend it. We shouldn't have to. It happens on a consistent basis on top of other misspoken promises.

Personally. I'm putting, Left 4 slow, on time out.I was going to buy the DLC as soon as it released but i've convinced most of the people i game with to wait as well. I would rather prefer a polished, DLC rather than a buggy one. That's no excuse to no keep us updated and don't hoodwink us on the day before the release date. They went from an official release date to..,sometime closer to the spring. that's a blatant fail. If you're going to take more time out because your unconfident in your product and want to work some more shit out, then tell us.

I'm not entirely convinced that this wasn't simply a marketing ploy so that they didn't have to compete with MW2 Stimulus.

Why they could care about MW2?

If they cared so much, they wouldn't of released L4D2 a week or two after MW2.

But they suddenly care about a ****ing map pack release date.

Valve has constantly over the year, pushed back games but we constantly (every game) amazing games. 3 of those games are considered classics and hugely influential.

If you ever programmed before, or done anything with technology, you should know that shit happens.

Sorry, I can never figure out people's problems with release dates. The game will come out when it comes out.

It's true. Programming has it's good days and its bad days, and bad days usually involve compiling and trying to run code only to get masses of errors from code that has been untouched since the good days...it's, to say the least, ****ing frustrating.

It's highly unprofessional. That is why people care, especially when it happens consistently. This isn't going to affect, Valves sales or peoples opinion of their technical skill but it still deserves to be noted and recognized. That is what we're doing. No one here is questioning or complaining about the quality of Valves games. So, for you to keep brining that up and defending it is a moot point. This announcement was especially offensive because it came on the EVE of the original projected release date.

Why could they care about MW2? Are you serious? I would expect someone like you to understand marketing and how it works and why it's so important. L4d2 and MW2 released during the Christmas season. There is not as much concern about competition during that time of the year. Developers don't have to worry as much during this time of the year as long as they already have a pre-existing fan base. Coming up on the Summer months when gaming sales near their weakest there is much to take into consideration. I'm not going to give you a cheap introduction into marketing but you should know that it is just as important as the product itself. Every company cares about their marketing strategies almost as much and sometimes more than they do about the integrity of their products.

Dude, L4D2 was released two weeks after Modern Warfare 2.

If they didn't care then, why would they care about a released map pack?

There wasn't a set release date. It was supposed to be "late March". That's not a set release date.

Yep. It was free on the PC, which is really the only reason I did.

Pretty sweet i'll say. it's got new weapons, 3 new chapters and a unique witch, as well as a twist about the original l4d characters...

Yeah I got it too. I liked the campaign, and I don't mind it being shorter. i liked Ellis and Nick semi-arguing over who's gonna go out with Zoey. Can't blame them though. Zoey is teh foxxy lady inlove

RIP Bill...

The DLC is trash. It's a bonanza of bugs and serves no purpose rather than to fill you in on a few storyline curiosities. Valve blew this one.

Yeah, it's more of the same. That's why its DLC.

I didn't think it was that bad, at all.

I'm getting this and the dlc Saturday.
