Metroid: Other M

I'm more concerned about the body mechanics of going from first to third person in rapid succession during boss battles etc. According to the initial impressions, that was the most difficult part of the game.

well.. it worked well enough when you went from first person to third in ball morph mode in Prime

The difficulty is that you're holding the remote sideways, like an NES controller but to go third person (the only way to shoot missiles) you have to point it at the screen, thus fundamentally changing your grip and hand positions (unless you're left handed). The easiest way I can think of doing it quickly if you're a righty is to point it at the screen with both hands keeping your right behind your left and sliding back to switch back to normal 3rd person view. Taking off the jacket and playing bare-back may make it easier too.

i get you

Let's face it, that control method just screams 'potential disaster'.

I'll give it a go, though.

Worst case scenario, nintendo finds an interesting new way to market astroglyde- Controller lube/metroid juice to cut down on friction and wear while flipping the controller around. It worked for guitar picks with gorilla snot...

Better voice this time, I think.

Jennifer Hale? Yeah, she's pretty good.

That's some pretty bitchin' news to me. She's one of my three favorite voice actresses (with Tara Strong and Kari Wahlgren).

I suppose really we must give credit for trying something so different.

But every reviewer going must be thinking 'uh-oh' at that First Person mode switch.

Well, "uh oh" at switching back and forth quickly. I think Samus' new mole is a little too distracting too.

Why do people keep calling those things moles? It's a birthmark!

Moles are ugly birthmarks that should be removed on sight!

I actually had a dream about that, and if it turns out that my subconcious mind is predicting how this will work correctly, it will be pretty awesome.

Because in my dream, quickly switching the view added such a level of intensity to the boss battles that it was unreal...

Yes, video games occasionally make an apperance in my dreams... don't judge me... 😛

Actually, since I'm thinking about it, the most interesting game-related dream I ever had was one of the Pokemon Trading Card Game for the Gameboy. And in it you actually had to go catch wild pokemon cards, it was pretty odd...

Every review I've read so far says it works well and is awesome. I personally think I'll like it.

$10 says that Samus is getting the jiggle feature since Team Ninja is assisting Nintendo with this project.

$10 says Samus isn't, because it's Nintendo.

And if it's there, I don't see it in the leaked intro to the game.

Not necessarily. The death animation sprite in Super Metroid actually has a jiggle in it but it's obscured by the fade to white.

@Scenario

If Nintendo doesn't even want Samus to have jiggle treatment from Team Ninja, they shouldn't have made Samus look hot in the first place.

Team Ninja + hot woman = you know the rest

I've played enough TN games to know what they do with each female character and no, I don't play them for THAT reason, I play them because the action and fighting sequences are jaw dropping.

*facepalm*
yea, cuz that's surely what they had in mind when they designed her 🙄

Nor did I, though a part of me wouldn't be suprised. But seriously? How long are we expecting Samus to be out of her suit?

And, I have to admit, I am now quite looking forward to this game. Especially since I have been playing Super Metroid again.
