I think all these comments of the cop "pushing of the road" are irrelevant. Agreed its important to get away from the road and preferably over the barrier, safety is a priority here so no one is arguing that the cop should act for both persons safety.
But there are ways do do things, respectful ways. Not pushing people about like that, if he had pushed me like that out of reaction I´d have punched him.
The problems here are the following.
# The cops attitude and lack of respect pissed the old woman off.
# The old lady should not of reacted like she did, she was over the top. After all she was speeding, and the cop was just doing his job.
# The cop should´t have pushed her about like some junky bum from the gutters. But maybe have used calming words and gestures to get her off the road to safety.
# The cop should not have Tasered her, she was no danger to him, she had no weapon. Defusing the situation in some way would have been the right path, or in the extreme case he could have put her on the car and handcuffed her if she wouldn´t calm down. Risking her life because of a speeding ticket is just wrong.
It might have already been said, but Tasing the old lady was the much much better choice.
He was very nice to her, considering the situation.
Also, anyone who thinks physically reprimanding her was the better choice over tasing is an idiot. The best way to reduce injury to all parties involved was tasing the resistive b*tch. Wrestling the old lady the the ground and forcing handcuffs on is simply the stupidest option available. It puts the old lady at a much greater risk to injury and it also puts the officer at a higher risk of injury.
No where do you see me mention "old lady weak heart" etc. If anyone argues this point, I'll show you why you're an idiot.
Oh, and you guys should know that I'm for eliminating swats in all schools and using electrocution as the method of "physical" discipline. MWHAHAHA! I asked my wife if we could use cattle prods on the kids when they misbehave. lol

Yeah, no. The best way would have been to let her sign the ticket and send her on her way.

No, I did. He had a clear option not to shove her, give her the ticket, let her sign it, let her drive off, untasered and everyone happy.
Yup. I see it. After she refused to sign it, she ordered out of the car, she got out of the car, and she almost immediately agreed to sign it. However, too late. She was belligerent and already refused to sign it. Point of no return. Had that been you or me, we would have gotten our ass beat down.
But, yes, I do see it. There was a window to just forget everything. But can he do something like that? Sure. Is it right by his badge? Probably not.

Better idea, use the prod on your wife when she misbehaves.

this cop and probably many others need to go onto a "how to diffuse an explosive situation" course.
followed a "how to be respectful to the public and not piss people off" course.
