Spoiler:
professor himself. Ronnie even commented on all those formulas in his head. It seems like hes more of a brainiac than Ronnie. Thats gonna help him in the long run for sure. Im not sure if Ronnie was just bullshitting, but it sure took him long enough to come up with the formula for salt. Thats high school chemistry.
ronnie was always a very... juvenile type of character [a mentality he seems to have maintained.] and while he may have the experience edge on jason, he lacks the in depth knowledge that can make firestorm a very powerful character.

jason will own him.

It's been a while, but didn't Ronnie always have a dangerous back lash whenever he transmuted organic matter?
i'm talking about what professor stein revealed a few years ago. not what we saw decades before that.

Ronnie could still never manipulate organic matter without the back lash as I recall. Only Jason was able to. That's all I'm saying.

Maybe it's the wielders that matter not the Matrix itself, who knows.

again, stein stated that organic matter manipulation is something firestorm has always been able to do. ronnie simply never did because of aforementioned reasons.

could it be that jason is more powerful overall? sure. i'm just commenting on a statement stein made.

well sitting up late and studying chemical compounds was never something Ronnie would have done,,,so IMO his experience doesnt really count for much. the whole organic thing is a standard mental block thing that ppl with this powerset normally have..but it usually takes something very traumatic for them to realize that it is a self imposed weakness

So like I said. Ronnie was never able to do it, safely, but Jason did.

That's all I'm saying.

If you'd simply agreed with me, and said I was right, like you should have, everything would have been much more simpler. biscuits

i'm not sure what exactly ronnie did to gehenna either. however, during his last series, professor stein revealed that firestorm has always been able to transmute organic matter. the reason ronnie never *used* to attempt such, is because he was always worried about the end product being unstable.

jason, on the other hand, has successfully transmuted organic matter [ie. killer frost.] so i wouldn't be surprised if BL-ronnie can do it successfully now as well.

Spoiler:
jason's going to kick the ever-loving shit out of him in the next issue though.
ermmhappy

i hope so. the man

Spoiler:
killed his woman
. that shit won't stand.

Notice that when a hair from death, its when

Spoiler:
Jason and Kendra want to finally say that they love Gen, Carter.

If Johns retcons Spectre into the Red Lanterns' Creature (eg Parallax/Ion) it would be the final nail in the coffin.

I enjoy some parts of the story (mainly Orin and J'onn kicking major @ss) but The Spectre thing is some of the worst shit ever written. Johns has no idea what the Spectre is and puts up an excuse that BLanters are immune to magic.

Since when is Spectre only based in magic?
His powers are magic plus divine empowerment.

The only thing I can go for is that The Spectre jobbed because the host can't resist but still...

Apart form that a pretty good story and I want to see what "power levels 100%" means.

it does, and doesn't. as we've already seen, ronnie's experience edge helps him out quite a bit in the area of 'matrix-manipulation'.

"safely" is a very subjective word. 😛

At this point I don't care what happens to the Spectre.

Seriously, he's starting to feel like the Sentry.

would anyone really be surprised if something like that happened to spectre? i know i wouldn't.

let's face it, the guy needs some SERIOUS redemption - and i just don't see that happening while he's under johns.

I request this topic to have a spoiler sign. It's more convenient for everyone.

Any ways, did anyone else think the dead of Gen. I never really cared about her, but I still felt sorry for her.

Considering the level he is supposed to be, and the level he is portrayed at, I'd say he is far worse than Sentry. Which is quite sad.

Johns simply has zero respect for the character. And while I was 'this sucks' at him constantly jobbing, especially under Johns' pen, the thought of him being retconned into something that fits his great vision on the DCU just angers me.

The level isn't necessarily what matters most, but rather the role he's given. Spectre's sole purpose now is to be taken down by a newcomer in a single shot, or be unable to do anything about him 🙁
