Are you somehow suggesting that Johns can impose his views on the DCU ? Surely you jest.

The editors are all over him.

I'm a few weeks behind in picking up my comics, I've only been going once a month lately and picking up a rather absurd stack of them> Have they explained or detailed any of the Spectre stuff yet?

Because it doesn't even make sense in the confines of the story.

The ring shouldn't go after Crispus, because it doesn't go after the soul, but the body- hence Deadman's body being brought back, but not Deadman himself getting a ring.

And it shouldn't attack Spectre, because it's not dead, it's an idea wrapped in the form of a renegade angel.

Johns just hates dealing with the Spectre in his imprint-wide storyarcs.

Fixed.

With the whole

Spoiler:
Black lantern Superboy
stuff, isn't Conner's decaying body still somewhere on earth?

I mean he was

Spoiler:
resurrected in the future in LO3W, right? so there could maybe be both a BL conner and the living conner.

If Johns followed through logically, I don't think that could really happen- the Kryptonian regeneration matrix-thingy (SCIENCE!) required a full thousand years to regenerate his body. So, if it was removed it couldn't be regenerated.

....or something.

agreed and i also wouldnt mind SBP kinda turning good and dying in the end almost conner like when all other heroes are down

Didn't Starman dig up Superboy? I assumed he took the body to the future

or Brainiac is just that damn smart regardless.

Wait no I re-read Legion of 3 Worlds #04, and Starman dig up Superboy but he hid him in real time not in the future. So yeah the dead body of Superboy is still "avaliable" for a BL, unless he is content with his death and the BL ring cant touch him.

Brainy (all three of him) were unconscious when the matrix finished...

I see what you're saying.

Starman didn't "hide" Conner's body. He moved him from whatever graveyard he was in (I'm assuming the Metropolis one where the Superman and that weird Eagle statue is) and placed him in the Kryptonian.... regenerator.... thing (again.... SCIENCE!).... and allowed him to have the one-thousand years that according to Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds, it requires the Kryptonian half of Conner's body to regenerate.

So..... by the logic Johns himself established, Conner's "present' body cannot gain a Black Lantern ring UNLESS the BL Conner is destroyed IMMEDIATELY.... returned intact to the regenerator... and given the thousand years to be restored (which.... could slightly work with Legion Chronology. Technically, SPB's assualt on the future takes place about a thousand years and a couple weeks past "current" DCU time).

I don't think that's going to happen.... and I don't think we're going to see Conner's "present" body get a ring.

I mean, solicits have already been issued that state that Superboy: Blackest Night are about Superboy Prime, NOT Conner.

Lame.

Having to fight your own undead corpse with the knowledge that if you damage it you'd die would be far more of a mindrape then just fighting a deceased loved one.

Can't the ring just go to his dead corpse in the regenerator thingy ?

I presume he is still dead, even though he's going to be revived in a thousand years time ?... hmm this getting a bit analytical and philosophical?

Conner is not coming back from the dead. It will be Superboy Prime

Johns is REALLY messing with the 4th wall. It's like anything involving SBP is his own personal funhouse now.

Spoiler:
He even has Brainy linking into SBP's universe to read Legion comics in order to try to avert disasters. Hilarious!
