Haven't read the issue yet,but i'm calling BS.
No-one could contain Blue Devil...
the latest issue of "superman/batman" should have just been #8 of grundy's mini - that's essentially all it was. anyhow, i found it odd that bizarro was emitting purple [love] to black lantern eyes, yet his true emotion actually registered as rage. that kind of threw me for a loop.
as for adventure comics... johns REALLY needs to hop off prime's bone, and stop using him in every single event he writes. the overall issue was absolutely pointless.

Geoff Johns is the ultimate fanboy writer. If you like the kind of things in comics he likes, then you're going to love his work. If it only appeals to you when it's wonderful, ridiculous, and fun (To cite specifically: Hawkman, early JSA, when Robinson was still co-writing, and Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds), then the majority of his output is just going to read like LOOK AT HOW GREAT THE SEVENTIES WERE!

the first 'depowerment' i think of [via johns] are green lanterns in general. among everything else, he made the charge of their rings ridiculously finite comparative to how long a charge used to last... and don't even get me started on where he decided to go with spectre.

it seems like johns has a nasty habit of depowering mainstream DC, in order to make way for the obscure characters he seems to enjoy upgrading so much [black hand, nekron, prime, hammond, etc.]

For god's sake, let him have some fun with a couple of the lesser known characters. God knows every character who isn't a big game goes down instantly all the time.
you're right. there is absolutely nothing wrong with revamping lesser known characters - as long as it's done in a tasteful way [hell, bedard is doing that right now with REBELS.]
johns, however, tends to downplay mainstream DC *seemingly* for the sole purpose of making his 'pet characters' look... better.
i just don't agree with that.
