Being hit is physical. If I'm made out of air or light, you can swing at me all you like, but you won't be making contact.
It does not have to fit any standard, by defintion almost everything has a soul by default. And your not making any sense anyway.

You dont have to be hit to have a strike and furthermore techincally if your made out of light, your being hit. Thing is, when a normal physical weapon cannot harm light or influence it much at all, on the other hand the soul reaver can harm souls.
A soul is a concept that may or may not be used in fiction. There was never any mention of souls in Tomba. There is no reason to assume they have souls.
Kain can't survive extreme heat, and you don't know if the Soul Reaver can.
Your loophole is useless. The obvious intention is that you have to hit them with it, and Kain cannot hit the pig with it.
Theres no extreme heat otherwise tomba would be incinerated, the only reason your bringing up extreme heat is because I used the sun as an example of a light source, a light bulb which could just about singe my finger tips also gives off light...something does not have to be hot to give off light.
Not really, I dont need a loophole and by logic Kain just slashes the form that passes for hte pig, but anyway, this is a boring troll thread and youve got nothing to back up what the pigs form actually consists of or how durable it is.

It has to be hot, or else it wouldn't produce light. Light bulbs produce light by running electrical current through the filament, and they can be very bright, but this ball is obviously much brighter. Light bulbs also increase in temperature. Go touch a really bright light bulb.
So, since Kain cannot survive extreme heat, and there's nothing to suggest that the Soul Reaver can, even if they could slash him, they both get incinerated before the pig even casts his time stop spell.

Thing is...hes even put the battle on an actual level in the game, and theres no plot devices that ive seen protecting Tomba, he just beats the pig. The only thing he has that Kain does not is a sack to chuck the pig in.So its kain instead of Tomba in one of the actual levels in the games....
The pig left Tomba immune to his time spell, on purpose. It's likely he didn't know Zippo existed, and assumed Baron was still turned to stone in the Donglin Forest.

Is a lightbulb hot enough to burn Kain? I seriously doubt that. The Pig wasn't giving off much more light than a lightbulb, so I can't really see where this 'extreme heat' thing is coming from.
Now while Kain is no Quicksilver or Hulk, he has good speed(thanks to his mist form which apparently grants him quick bursts of speed), and pretty good strength at ~class 30.
