FIREFLY RPG - Episode 0 - Prologue

Marina is going to get the hatch open with Shaftoe so that we can shoot people to death.

Nadra looks at the amount of blood a bit uncomfortably.

"...do you think he's going to live?" she asks.

"No sir!" Harmony responds, "Sorry sir! I think they had some explosives with them, sir, because the blast wasn't supposed to be that severe! The airlock's been blasted open and the other vessel's bridge has been torn apart. I'm trying to see if the interior airlock door closed automatically when the breach occurred... Careful, sir: it could be hard vacuum on the other side of that blast door!"

Harmony brings up a damage report while editing the drivers to get the pulse drive back online: if the pirate vessel does decide to start shooting, there's not much she can do to stop them at this point! Reaction thrusters and maneuvering thrusters can wait until the ship isn't in imminent danger of being blown up by angry pirates who just watched their mates get blasted into the Black. "Captain, we should probably get someone on the turrets in case they do start shooting!"

(IS it hard vacuum on the other side of that blast door? Also, trying to separate out the engines- or even functions- to make the rolls easier... any way to do that?)

"Not sure... Doc, I'd be glad to help you out. I've got a bit of experience with medicine myself."

Gabriel will ready his shotgun and aim behind half cover.

"Yeah, sure. Now, let's figure out what we need..."

Kenneth checks Phillip over, severity of the wound, location, and whether the bullet exited the body or remained inside.

If you want to target a specific part of the engine first, you can, Harmony. It would need five successes.

-

Kenneth makes a Medicine roll to investigate the gunshot wound that Phillip is bleeding from. He rolls three successes using his template's bonus, and get in there. It entered through the left side of his chest, far enough below to collar bone to end up where it is. There is no exit wound... it may be lodged in his lung.

-

Kelly checks the readings on the door controls to make sure that Marina and Shaftoe aren't going to be exposing them to vacuum, then comms Harmony back.

"Get that pulse drive back so we can scoot," Kelly says. "I got the turret. You all get that boarding crew off my ship!"

Marina and Shaftoe then yank the door open, a wave of heat greeting them... as well as twenty charred men lumbering toward them wearing full hazard suits!

I need the Gun schticks for Shaftoe, Marina, Alan, Gabriel, and Toki.

Bullet Time and Lightning Reload.

Alan shakily keeps his shotgun trained on the door as Marina and Shaftoe open it, his only thought is on how much repair work that will have to be done.

Aren't I there as well Rex?

Christopher will give any help Kenneth asks for when treating Phil.

Nadra will offer up her help as well, though she's not sure how much good it'll do.

Yes, my bad, Toki. I need yours as well.

Also, in that group, tell me what weapon you are starting out with.

-

The way we account for Christopher helping medically is that Kenneth and Christopher put their dice together. However, each can only contribute as much as the lowest Medicine pool between the two.

Nadra has no Medicine skill but she can make Kenneth's job easier by handing him his tools.

Well, I guess she'll do that, then, while trying to not look at all the blood everywhere.

She's a bit squeamish about that sort of thing 😛

"Yessir!" Harmony responds over the comm while working on the drivers for just the Pulse Drive.

Carnival of Carnage, Eagle Eye and Eye of the Storm for now.

Eagle Eye, Gunslinger and Marksman.

Mercy Killer, Bodyguard and Lightning Reload

So we have our crewmembers and guest gunman ready to fight off the invaders. Marina has decided to stick with her original schticks.

The boarding hijackers are all wearing hazard suits that protect them fully from the elements of space, but the explosion that Harmony caused has worn them down considerably. They all lose two points of armor, leaving them with one. They are all wielding submachine guns of various types.

Now to give the boarding party a proper Gan Ying greeting...

And... go!

Meanwhile, Harmony is getting the Pulse Drive going so that Gan Ying is less of a sitting duck. Making use of Fix-It again, she rolls eight dice that show up 2, 5, 2, 5, 6, 3, 3, 4. Three successes! Not quite enough to get it going this turn.

I'll need to know what Christopher and Kenneth have decided on- is Kenneth going it alone or is Chris chipping in his dice?

I will target the closest mook to me. Hopefully killing two with CoC. Does CoC also work on the Hijackers as supermooks?
