Marina will shoot down a hijacker mook with her light revolver, squeezing off a few shots into it.

Gabe and Alan might want to remember that shotties get bonus dice if you get up-close and personal. Just a thought. 😉

I don't think it will be necessary for mooks, and it would cost me cover.

Harmony struggles with the drivers, trying to remember the particulars of the Gan Ying's pulse drive. After all, the machine is unique and meant to run for significantly longer than normal, which means the drivers need to be tuned to maximize its shorter-term speeds... This is trickier than she thought it would be.

So A through D are supermooks and the others are just regular?
if Thats the case, I'll tap Eagle Eye on supermook A.
Then switch in Straight Shooter.
If they arn't supers I'll just take a normal shot at A

"Oh, fun. We get to go... fishing. My extraction tools are in that drawer, Nadra."

6 is more than 5, so Kenneth will take Christopher's help. He begins with an injection to lessen the blood loss, cleans out the wound, and tries to extract the bullet.

"Would it be possible to be just a bit more specific as to which you need?" Nadra asks, just slightly sarcastically, rummaging through the indicated drawer for a moment before settling for grabbing just about everything she can from it.

If there is any cover about Alan will move to it and fire a shot off at one of the mooks.

Let's move on, then. Toki is a turn behind.

Gan Ying's defenders roll a 5 for Intiative, beating out the boarding party's 3, so they go first.

Gabriel pumps out shotgun blasts trying to take down two targets. In the first attack, though, he only rolls two successes, not enough to take down the thug (though he is ignoring its armor). A second shotgun blast takes him down, though.

Marina rolls one success, but without Eagle Eye her bullet only impacts on the thug's armor.

Alan haphazardly fires his shotgun- shooting is not something he is greatly experienced with, but he manages to hit a target for one.

In the mean time, Shaftoe brings the fury. He rolls four successes, which are then doubled in damage by tapping Eagle Eye, and then added to the baes damage of his heavy revolver. He does 10 damage as the bullet skims A's armor.

Their numbers not having dwindled much, the hijackers shoot back, with three on each defender. Marina, out in the open, faces some spray and must recoil for 8 damage. Shaftoe, also exposed but (by random dice roll) is covered by Toki's Bodyguard, takes 8 too. Toki takes 14 damage.

Now in cover, Alan loses the benefits of Bullet Time but gets to ignore the first success of his attackers with cover. Only one manages to sneak past his cover, for 4 damage. He does get a point of ammo back from a defensive bonus.

Gabe fairs even better, not taking a single hit from the mooks due to his Parry rating and cover. One mook triggers the defensive bonuses of his schticks, giving him a point of protection next turn from Carnival of Carnage, and also wastes a point of ammo shooting at Gabriel.

The Supermooks then fire, picking... everyone but Alan, this turn. Toki is again hit for 4 damage.

Kenneth sets to work on his patient with Christopher's help. Together they roll nine successes on a pool of 14 dice, which is very good. After cleaning the wound and preparing it for surgery, Kenneth is able to get in there and, slowly but surely, remove the bullet.

Harmony keeps working on the drivers for the Pulse Drive... and this time... yes, the drivers are back and working! Pulse Drive online when you get the other two successes you needed.

"Captain! We have the Pulse drive! We're good to go! I can fix maneuvering and reaction thrusters once we're clear! What's your order sir- run or gun?" Harmony eactivates the inertial dampeners and starts working on the reaction thrusters. As soon as the captain gives an order one way or another, she'll act on it- either by kicking the pulse drive up away from the pirate vessel, into deep space, or by creating two separate inertial fields, operating for a tiny fraction of a second each, to spin the ship around and bring the front-mounted weapons to bear.

I'll take a regular shot on the same Supermook again.

My apologies. Do I make two actions or just one?

Toki will cover and guard Marina so she can move to a safer spot and fire at the closest Mook that's aiming at her.

Kenneth will close the wound and bandage it, applying whatever other injections are needed to stabilize his patient's vitals.

Can I get in close combat with some of the mooks?

If so I will swap in close quarter gunman for Eye of the Storm and target 2 mooks again.

Marina observes that Toki has moved to cover her with his shooting and decides to make the best of it, getting herself into cover where Gabriel has just left from, inside the doorway. She shoots at the injured mook, wishing that she had her bolt-action rifle instead of this dinky revolver.

Intiative roll is a tie! Goes to the players this time.

Shaftoe keeps at it with A. He rolls seven successes, four of which are 6s, triggering offensive bonuses. Straight Shooter turns his first success into three, and Marksman lets him roll two more dice that gets him one more success for a grand total of ten. Ouch. A takes 11 damage.

Toki catches up. Last turn he actually shot down a mook that shot at him, debilitating him with a shot to the knee. This turn he misses, though.

Gabriel moves into close range with that shotgun of his; Close Quarters Gunman doesn't kick in until next turn, but right now he ups his pool by +3 for moving in with a shotgun. Two kills easy as he goes ka-chink! and blows them away.

Marina moves into cover and finishes her target.

Alan will be a turn behind.

Retaliation time! Now the boarding party has lost some of its men. Two mooks on each of you, with an extra on Gabriel for scarily running straight toward them. Gabriel takes 8 damage, saved from more by Eye of the Storm's Parry and Carnival's point. Marina, now in cover and covered by Toki, is missed. Toki himself is nicked for 5 damage, and Shaftoe takes 9 out in the open. Alan hides in cover and is missed too.

Then A through D fire, Alan left out of their shooting once more. Shaftoe takes another hit for 5 damage. Gabriel clicks in his defensive bonuses against B, and is missed because of Carnival's points (gaining three, two of which discount B's attack). Marina takes 4 damage. Toki takes 5 damage.

Captain Kelly replies from the topside turret.

"Run, dammit," Kelly curses. "And give me a check on the weapons systems. Turret ain't responsive."

-

Eight successes between Kenneth and Christopher assures that the wound is patched up neatly. Phillip has still lost a great deal of blood, but he will survive so long as you monitor him. His wound was not too terrible; the difficulty of your rolls was three, as that was how far past his damage limit he had gone.

I will take out two more mooks in close combat now.

Harmony guns it, turning on the Pulse drive full blast. While the drive heats up, she runs a check on the weapons systems. "Yessir, checking now that we're on our way out of here. Doubt they'll be able to catch us again."

yay!
I'll take another normal shot on A to try to down him.
