Adam even said his own might was useless against Captain Marvels, which kind of suggests PC Cap was stronger then PC Superman, since Supes hit Adam with his best shot and at best was stalemating him...

black adam beat supes and marvel togther
superman states black adam is more powerful than him
shazam a skyfather level being couldnt hurt him so he bfr him to another universe

News to me as well for the post crisis versions, although a case could be made for pre crisis... If Supes said that, it doesn't really show from their fights...

At most, maybe Cap has a very, very slight edge from the magic, but Cap had trouble enough with an Eclipsed Superman who still had the magic weakness (As Cap was using the lightning against him to great effect), and he needed two full strength blows to knock out Superman when his guard was down. The first one merely stunned him, and he could still form coherent words...

Even Loeb, who had Superman comment on the magic weakness, portrayed them as more or less evenly matched.

supes saids everyone he fights was the hardest opponent ever.

Superman stopped Bizarro Superman with freeze breath in a fairly recent story.

Why wouldn't this work on Adam? When you think about it, historically speaking powerful characters get contained all the time.. Gladiator contained Thor Girl in ice, Juggernaut was trapped in a cement block, Odin was contained in a giant sphere of ice. In the JLU cartoon, Doomsday was trapped in a giant chunk of lava.. In Godzilla: Final Wars, 'Zilla gets trapped in ice.

Just saying, there's precedent across all sorts of media for super powerful characters being contained by things you'd expect wouldn't contain them.

if Atlas can pound the Sh#$ out of supes i dont see why a guy like Adam cant due worse..
