STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Broken

Rianna will tap Leaping Attack, jumping up and aiming a kick towards Astrune's chest.

Swap it out for...oh, Dodge and Weave, I guess. I don't have many options 😛

Astrune wins initiative.

As Rianna charges her down, Astrune makes her attack, rolling three successes. She then taps a schtick special to her harsh martial training- Passive Wings. This gives her attack +4 damage and takes Rianna to her limit of 50.

When Rianna leaps up to launch her stellar kick, Astrune throws out her arm to knock Rianna sideways in the air. She then punches Rianna in the stomach and sends her flying back, smashing into a pillar.

(cheating bastard 😛)

Rianna, winded from both that last strike and hitting the pillar, simply lets herself fall to the ground, not expecting anything like that.

Astrune walks over to you and offers her hand.

"Well played, Jedi," Astrune says. "But I'm afraid I cannot return your lightsaber to you. And forgive my cheating ways, but deception is part of my art."

Rianna will accept the help up.

"I hope you understand, even just a small amount, what a lightsaber means to a Jedi, and even moreso for someone like me, who is very serious about swordsmanship..."

"Perhaps a rematch will be in order?" Astrune suggests, pulling you to your feet. "But not now."

Tineas just scoffs at the Jedi, seemingly not impressed by Rianna's display.

"Your lightsabers will work in a few minutes," he tells you. "Is your business with the Dame complete?"

Astrune and Tineas both look expectantly for you answer.

"Maybe. I would rather like it back. And next time I won't be caught off-guard immediately," Rianna replies, rather frustrated.

"And unless Master Vera-Kin has anything to ask or say, I suppose so..."

Vera-Kin frowns at Tineas' smug arrogance at the deceitful move by Astrune, but decides only to take it down as a mental note rather than let it affect their current chat.

"After that display, I'm not sure how I could doubt the safety of the Box," Vera-Kin says. "We just ask that you remain on the lookout for any sign of Nume Rand or his disciples. The lightsaber in your possession was a gift from him, if you did not realize. Its presence here means he already knows where the Box is, no doubt."

"I will be sure to inform you of anything I or my men see," Astrune says, with a smile. "Now, if you will excuse me, I want to change my clothes."

She barely even broke a sweat, Rianna. Her fighting form is impressive! But you are rather sure if you had used your lightsaber it would not have been a contest.

Tineas shows you out of the Astrune residence shortly after. You pass through the artifact room on the way out, Rianna catching a glimpse of her lightsaber, Vera-Kin of the Box.

Once outside, Barker growls about how he did not like it there.

"I didn't exactly like it either. And despite her claims, it's difficult to trust someone who so casually resorts to cheating," Rianna says, still frustrated and annoyed.

"Now what? We've found the Box and as far as we can tell, it's safe, even though Rand more likely than not knows where it is."

"I do not trust Dame Astrune in the least," Vera-Kin tells her friends, "but we cannot simply walk into her home and take the Box. Or your lightsaber, for that matter. Not without reason to believe that it is dangerous in her possession. We may have to keep an eye on her."

"Watching her - or her home, at least - may be a good idea...though none of this is what I expected to find here."

Barker asks what you want him to do and what you are going to do next.

"I don't know...I'm not sure what to do next. I would like to find Rand, of course, but I doubt that will be possible, or if it'd even be wise right now," Rianna says, sighing. "Though I am a bit sore from that fight. I should have known it wouldn't have been as simple as it appeared..."

"Not to critique you, but perhaps it was a fight you should not have engaged in," Vera-Kin says.

Can Barker stay and keep watch on Astrune? I would feel bad if he ended up getting taking out by the Dark Jedi if they came calling but Rianna and Vera-Kin have more important things to be doing.

And if Rianna's damage needs attention maybe we should go back to the military base, contacting General Hirget on the way.

"You are likely correct..." Rianna replies.

What do you think about leaving Barker? If not he'd be nifty muscle to have around, just in case.

Maybe have him wait around here and keep watch for a bit while we try and figure out what else we should do, and he can alert us if anything happens.

That's what I was thinking, just wanted to check my idea against you. 😛 Don't want to find my Wookiee a mangled mess when we get back.

That would be bad 😛 If Rand turns up, he should make sure to move clear just in case.
