STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Broken

No, they definitely aren't...

All of the minor scrapes and injuries that she's taken are starting to catch up to Rianna, as she launches a rather desperate volley of punches at Dalt. Tap Martial Artist.

Vera-Kin will swap in Balanced Guard for Orthodox and tap that as well, staying defensive as she runs to cover.

Bad guy initiative. Uh oh.

Without putting up any sort of special defensive display, Rianna charges down Dalt. Seeing his opponent wearied by the fighting, Dalt taps BGB to get an extra kick to his shots. Rianna takes 8 damage as a bolt screams through her shoulder, but she is still standing! But only just.

She then unleashes a stellar series of punches on Dalt despite her weariness. He takes 10 damage as one of her punches hits particularly hard, but he rolls with it and backs off to put some distance between himself and the Jedi.

Vera-Kin is nigh untouchable as she dashes for cover. The probe droids takes shots at her before she makes it, but with Balanced Guard tapped and Block active she flips out of the wall. The disruptor beams render the stone pavement molten behind her.

Your supporting team opens fire just as you make it to cover. One of the probes is starting to spark and sputter as it swoops in for the next attack.

Refresh turn!

Swap MA for LA, please.

Rianna goes after Dalt again, jumping up and striking at him with a spinning kick. Tap LA, Feint, and DW.

Vera-Kin will refresh OGu and swap it in and tap it again, trusting her allies to blow up the probes this turn. Swap out BGu.

Bad guys again...

As Rianna weaves around his shooting, Dalt gets nervous and fails to hit, less coordinated now that BGB is off. Taking advantage of that, Rianna leaps into the air and performs a Trinity-style kick to the chest that sends him flying for 11 damage. She follows up by chasing after him and smashing him across the face for 4 more damage, putting him at 25...

But that does not take Dalt out of things. Though bloodied and bruised now, Dalt presses the nozzle of one of his pistols against Rianna's thigh and blasts her at pointblank in the next turn after she fails to slug him again.

-

Vera-Kin intercepts the disruptor beams once more, just before Barker's shotgun discharges and blows up the first probe. The second swoops in low to get past your cover but your Guard tap holds out against it. It takes some damage from the snipers, but in the next turn, you cut it in two.

Vera-Kin sighs as the second probe falls in pieces on the ground, bouncing a few times before coming to rest. She is going to want to analyze it since the first one was obliterated, so she tells Barker to grab the pieces.

Then, she heads to the ruins of the Fort. Is the wall around it still intact? If so, she will check the main entrance to see if the ray shield is still on. She uses the Force to sense for life, while telling everyone to follow her into the base.

Rianna staggers and falls as she's blasted through the leg, crying out. She'll try and scramble back away from Dalt, deciding this situation is far too familiar to her...

"I need help!" she gasps into her comm, trying to get Vera-Kin.

"Where are you?" Vera-Kin asks, pulling out her comlink as she stops where she is.

"Where the rally was. I'm wounded. Arneth used a detonator and stole my lightsaber," she says, watching Dalt. Is Arneth still around anywhere? Or Nehmen, for that matter.

Dalt scrambles to his feet, then kicks the comlink out of your hand.

"Goodbye, Jedi," he says, raising his pistols... when Arneth puts a hand over them and pushes them down. The Dark Jedi has his other arm around Nehmen, the pulse pistol pressed to his throat.

"My Master wants her alive," Arneth says. "For now, at least. Get out of here."

-

You sense life underneath the wreckage, Vera... and there is a portion that resembles the top of the tower at the peak of the pile of rubble.

"Let him go," Rianna says to Arneth, not sure if she should be more or less frightened than she just was. She attempts to call her comlink back to her using the Force, though. "And your Master and what he wants can fall off a cliff, for all I care..."

Does she see Myraline's lightsaber on him?

Dalt runs off.

"Why would I let Nehmen go when he is part of the objective?" Arneth asks. He keeps Nehmen pinned but shoots at you when you try to call the comlink back. "I advise against that, girl."

Rianna draws back quickly as Arneth fires at her, deciding to abandon that idea for now.

"Part of the objective? Haven't you caused enough destruction and death for one day?" Rianna replies, cringing. "You've already got me injured and unable to fight back. Just...let him go."

Arneth answers by pushing his captive away and putting the pulse pistol in Nehmen's face. He grins widely, like a man about to do something terrible and enjoys it.

(Btw, your lightsaber is hanging from his belt, next to his own.)

Rianna immediately snaps out her hand, attempting to use the Force to push the pistol away.

"Rianna?" Vera-Kin asks into her comlink, disturbed by Rianna's sudden silence. She tries to sense if Rianna is in dire need of help, hoping that she does not sense her partner's death in the Force.

You sense that Rianna is in no immediate danger...

-

You try to knock the pistol from Arneth's hand, but in addition to being weakened and unfocused by your injuries, you do not beat Arneth's responding roll.

You watch in horror as he squeezes the trigger and the flurry of lasers vaporizes Nehmen's face, then his head entire. As the body falls back, Arneth sweeps the pulse pistol downward and riddles his chest and legs with blasts, and keeps firing once Nehmen is down. The body jerks with each hit until Arneth stops, then lies still, smouldering and blackened.

Satisfied with his work, Arneth turns to you.

"You are fortunate that my Master wants you alive," Arneth says, crouching over you. "Very fortunate. Otherwise you'd be joining your friend here."

Rianna looks away, slightly sickened by the carnage, as well as the fact that she was unable to stop it.

"Why? What does he want with me?" she asks, refusing to look at Arneth.

"You tell me," Arneth says. "I know he knows you from before... but what's so special about you? He said we could straight-up murder the old wrinkled one if it came to it, but not you. Why?"
