STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Broken

"Let's get to it, then," Vera-Kin says.

Vera-Kin is happy with what she has, and follows Rianna forward into the Peristyle to hack down a pair of Guardians. He orders for Colby to fire on Astrune stand, and Barker is coming with her.

Not going to respond to your senses, Vera?

Vera-Kin will look toward the source of the danger. If it is something that requires killing, Vera-Kin will direct her lightsaber swings at it, not using Block this turn.

Vera-Kin instinctually strikes without looking, having sensed flanking attackers before they could launch their punches! It also gives you a taste of Astrune's best disciples and the electro-gauntlets that they sport; in addition to that point of Defense they carry, the gauntlets allow them a point of Parry! With five successes she would normally take them both out, but two successes are dropped as the second Guardian intercepts her lightsaber on his forearm after it passes through his friend.

Rianna races forward with Barker! Now armed with her lightsaber again, Rianna is a lethal machine- Forward Guard bumps her pool up to fifteen dice! Ten successes reduced to eight by the electro-gauntlets is still enough to chop down a pair of Guardians!

Barker runs down a Guardian and sends it flailing into a column, which snaps in two (just like his spine). Their Parry only works against lightsabers, it seems. Oddly specialized devices...

Colby obeys Vera-Kin's orders and takes shots at Astrune before she can scramble for cover behind her ship. He does not get his bonus dice from CQG due to the range but rolls four successes just the same. 9 damage to Astrune!

Guardians punch back- their electro-gauntlets give them +1* damage, for a total base damage of 4*. Vera-Kin takes two smarting blows that see her in a bad state so soon into things, and Colby doesn't like it much either.

The Guardians in the Peristyle split between Rianna and Barker, with Tineas moving in on Rianna... but Barker throws himself in front of her! Taking the brunt of the attacks by providing a big hairy target, he takes 25 damage and nearly collapses in the onslaught of jolting blows.

Tineas is not distracted and works past the Wookiee to snap an attack at Rianna. One success is not much, but it could have been worse; Rianna does not have a working Defense! She takes 5 damage.

Astrune takes cover behind her ship, taking away Colby's good angles.

Hmm... this should be a familiar problem, for those that know the story of Ares and the Spiders.

"Colby, follow me!" Vera-Kin says. "We can't leave them alone out there!"

Vera-Kin races out into the peristyle with lightsaber flashing, immediately making for the Guardians swarming around Barker. She taps Orthodox Guard, Block, and Cleave to get her super anti-mook attack combo.

Oh yes, this is possibly going to get very bad.

Swap whatever combat power I still have in out for Perfect Strike, btw.

Rianna's going to keep up her attack on the guardians near her.

(You might want to get a defense running!)

Yeah I know, I don't really have much in the way of defense...

Actually, change my stated action a bit - I'm going to go ahead and tap Cleave.

Initiative to you, and be glad of that! The other way around and likely Rianna would be down...

Rianna whisks around and kills another two Guardians with eleven successes reduced to nine, which then converts into nine defensive points against mooks!

Vera-Kin rushes in with her Anti-Mook Massacre and gets nine successes reduced to seven, and does the same.

Barker, in order to give Rianna a clear path, jumps on Tineas, tapping Street Fighter to deliver a fiercesome combination attack for 12 damage.

Colby shoots the injured Guardian that follows Vera and him from the rear.

Tineas tangles with the Wookiee; a well-aimed blow shocks Barker and hits a nerve, stunning Barker for a round when Tineas taps Focused Blow.

Vera-Kin's Parry from her Guard keeps her clear and with just one Cleave point used. Rianna uses two. Colby taps Close Quarters and is fine.

Rianna continues her rather vicious attacks on the guardians, sweeping her lightsaber through the midsection of one.

Swap OGu for BGu!

Vera-Kin makes for a Guardian and chops it down, not wanting to put up with them for much longer.

"Get to Astrune!" Vera-Kin shouts to Rianna.

Initiative is theirs this time. Not so staggeringly lethal now...

Astrune has entered her spacecraft and the engines are whining to life!

Tineas follows up with a slug to Barker's gut, but only does 4 damage as he cannot pass through Barker's Unbreakable guard as easily.

With their leader taking on the Wookiee, the Guardians reform their group and attack two-on-one. Rianna blows four points, and one of her attackers triggers Riposte! She runs him through. Vera-Kin uses three points and Colby takes a pair of hits. All three get their kills shortly after!

Barker has four dice to work with and manages a slowed hit for 2 damage that Tineas neatly sidesteps.

"Go after her!" Colby shouts. "We've got this!"

Rianna gives Tineas a mocking smirk before breaking away from the remains of the fight, nimbly jumping/climbing up to the balcony where Astrune's ship is. She's going to make sure that Astrune doesn't take off, even if it means taking her lightsaber to the starship.

Vera-Kin watches Rianna go, then decides to help her walking carpet of a friend in his battle.

"Colby, Barker, take them, I've got him!" Vera-Kin says, indicating that she wants them to take down the last Guardians while she tangles with Tineas. She moves to a distance so that Tineas cannot just close with her, and uses Saber Throw to get a hit in.

Initiative to... you!

Rianna is clear of the fighting and nimbly hops up to the balcony above the peristyle. The balcony is simply part of the landing pad beyond, which is nestled into the shingled roof. Astrune's ship is thrumming as all systems complete their start-up routine, and it starts to lift off...

Vera-Kin steps back to get some space whilst Colby blows away a Guardian and Barker rounds on the last one as it heads for Vera-Kin, catching it offguard. He rather violently tears the Guardian's arm off and knocks him to the ground. With a good distance set, Vera-Kin hurls her lightsaber at Tineas. All Tineas can do is duck out of the way, but the blade scrapes him for 7 damage.

Unable to get at Vera-Kin and now completely alone, Tineas decides to move for the less sturdy target, Colby. Tapping Counterstrike doesn't do much for him, but bags six damage on Colby.

Rianna is determined to keep Astrune from lifting off, somehow, and is going to use Saber Throw to throw her lightsaber at the ship, hopefully damaging something on it enough to keep it on the landing pad.

You are in range to simply run up and stab it, if you would prefer it.

That works and would be preferable.

"Take care of him!" Vera-Kin says.

Vera-Kin jumps up onto the balcony after Rianna, not wanting her to take on Astrune alone.
