STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Broken

As Rianna races out ahead of her, Vera-Kin reaches out and grasps the rocket with her mind before it even leaves the launch tube. Once Dalt fires it, it spirals toward her... then slightly banks to the right, enough to send it completely off course. The rocket detonates against the tunnel wall, showering everyone with debris...

From out of the flames leap Rianna and Vera-Kin, who swiftly cut down the two miners with blaster rifles that were with Dalt. In a panic, Dalt drops his rocket launcher and goes for his pistols.

"May as well give up now, Dalt," Rianna says, advancing on him with her lightsaber angled towards him. "Don't even think things will go like they did last time we met."

To emphasize Rianna's point, Vera-Kin puts away her lightsaber and swiftly uses the Force to yank the blasters from Dalt's hands, catching one in each hands.

Unarmed, Dalt falls on his knees.

"Please, don't kill me!" Dalt sputters. "Rand said if I didn't stand and fight you he'd do your job for you and cut me up and throw me in the lava! I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, I..."

He continues to splutter out excuses until one of you shuts him up.

Rianna glares at him, and turns to Vera-Kin.

"Restrain him and leave him here. We can bring him with when we leave. I'm sure the military will just love to ask about his part in all of this..."

She herself, though, is going to continue on further a bit. Does she sense anything else?

Vera-Kin tosses the pistols in the air and uses her lightsaber to vivisect them, rendering them useless. She does the same with his rocket launcher.

"Let him find his own way," Vera-Kin says, rather scathingly. "He has no means of escape and if he knows what is good for him he will go to the authorities and explain himself. Otherwise, I suspect the martial law that Bradox has imposed will simply lead poor, manipulated Dalt to his untimely death by firing squad, hmm?"

Vera-Kin points her lightsaber at Dalt and gestures for him to get into the lift, lightly jabbing him in the leg with her weapon as he does.

"Yes, yes, I'll turn myself in!" Dalt yelps after you jab him with the glowing hot tip of your lightsaber. He runs limping into the lift and the door shuts behind him, leaving you both in the dimness of the tunnel with only one way onward. You trek on.

Eventually, you come to a junction where the path splits into three, branching off into different parts of the mine.

Hmmmm. Rianna's just thinking right now, that with her luck, the three of them have split up and are all down a different path...😛

Does she sense anything as to which way they should go?

Not really Rianna's thing, that. Besides, Rand has Iron Will... extremely difficult to sense him properly.

Annoyingly true...

Does Vera-Kin sense anything?

And do either of us just straight out notice anything with Observation? Maybe the sound of voices down the tunnel or something...

Hmm, you don't sense much...

...but you both notice, upon focusing on your surroundings, that there is a low humming coming from the lefthand tunnel.

"There's something down that tunnel," Rianna says, when they notice the humming. "Whether or not it's Rand, I think it's worth checking out."

"I agree," Vera-Kin says.

She starts walking down the tunnel, then, lightsaber in hand.

You make your way down the tunnel, which descends at a slight angle. You notice distinctly that it has become very, very hot in the mines. The temperature rises the deeper you go, and the humming noise becomes much louder as you near the end of the tunnel; the humming of active machinery.

The tunnel deposits you into a large cavernous room. Just outside the tunnel is a miners' checkpoint. Signs have been posted reading 'KEEP OUT!' and 'RESTRICTED ACCESS' everywhere. A security fence normally keeps everyone out, you presume, but it has been sabered through.

"Clearly that did not stop them..." Rianna says, glancing at the sliced fencing.

Vera-Kin shakes her head, then passes through the gate ahead of Rianna, keeping her senses open.

"Why do you think it is fenced off?" she asks Rianna.

You soon find out.

There is a shallow chasm ahead of you, over which a sturdy bridge has been constructed in order to cross the chasm. Running steadily in the bed of the chasm is a wide flow of molten lava, burning hot and bright as it crawls by and emits overwhelming heat into the mines. Small shield generators have been installed at regular points on the railing of the bridges and below it, curving the heat away and keeping it from taking damage from lava bursts.

Across the bridge, on the fair bank of the lava river, a massive drilling machine is humming loudly as its plasma drill burrows into the wall of the cavern.

At the helm is Rand.

"What is he doing...and where are the other two?" Rianna wonders aloud. She will sense around for anything unusual. She is also still nervous about confronting Rand, considering what's happened pretty much every time she's come in contact with him or his apprentices.

An object drops past your line of view and clatters noisily on the hard stone below your feet, just in front of you.
