LOTR RP Game part 1- Journey to Fornost

Certainly did. Everyone made it back to the camp safely, eventually.

The situation now is this. You are still a long way from Fornost- even before this latest diversion, going was slower than some of you had hoped.

Grum tells you the reason for the lack of movement of the camp- considerable Dunlending forces have sealed off the road. They have come recently, in large numbers. It seems they are looking for you.

Whils the mithril shipment is not due for a long time, if they really are planning to kidnap King Arvedui's daughter, then the time period they were talking was a matter of weeks. You reckon, if you cannot use the road, it would take over a month to reach Fornost itself to send warning to go help her. Too long.

What if Garisal went, Ush?

I assume an organised attack with the help of this camp is out of discussion.

You wouldn't trust this human Kingdom to receive a message from a bird owned by a Silvan, Aniica. Nonetheless, the idea of using the bird to help with the problem may well be a good one.

No, the camp is too weakened from the previous fight to be any good. None of them are in a mood to fight, still less to help Arthedain royalty.

"What did they ever do for Cardolan?" says Grum. "The Witch King's ARMY is invading our land, and the Arthedain forces sit safely behind their fortresses. If you ever get there... ask them why the abandoned us..."

"Will do, Grum," Talin replies. "Now, Aranui, I can tell you right off that this is a lot of mithril. From the sound of the dispatch, this will be more than any of the dwarves of my home have ever seen! Where did Gondor get so much? And why are they sending it into Arthedain?"

"Fair questions to ask indeed. The matter of importance now though is to get the message out in the fastest possible way."

"we should decide what we are doing.we cannot stay here much longer..." sais Palanfirith.

"I agree with you Aranui. We must get the message to Fornost, and quickly! But how? We do not have horses, and it would take more than 4 weeks for us to reach Fornost on foot off the road."

The more than four weeks doesn't matter for the mithril shipment, which has not even left Gondor yet. It matters for the Princess.

So..... any one got any ideas of what we should do?

"we have that princess problem at hand my dear men, I think we have two options either we make sure we get to fornost in time, how this can be done I do not know, either we back track towards rivendell on this road to meet up with the princess"
bows his head than leaves the meeting area

i am weary of all this deliberation. i shall wait outside while you decide what course of action ought to be taken.

"In my opinion we should head for Rivendell. The princess need us...." sais Palanfirith.

"we should probably stick to Fornost" says Vardalain

Ok, clarification time again... the Princess is nowhere near Rivendell. It is staggeringly unlikely she has even left Arthedain.

Here is the quote about the Princess that you have, courtesy of Vardalain's memory.

"She is out hunting for a month. If you can attack the north road to Norbury fast enough you may just take her."

And for those who are wondering... Norbury is the common man's name for Fornost.

So that may be the best solution....... What do you think every one?

Here is a visual update of the situation

X is the location of the camp

Y is roughly where the tower where you fought the Dunlendings was

Z is Fornost

The North Road route the Princess will be taking is outlined in red, but you do not know where she starts on it.

The Great East-West road you are currently on has been sealted off to the west by Dunlending forces looking for you.

*having wandered around the camp and found nothing of particular interest, finuvien has returned to see how the meeting has progressed*

"i agree with aniica--if we are to help the princess, then we must intercept her party before it reaches fornost. i propose that we cut across the country to the northwest, and rejoin the road midway."

Ooh, that sounds like a good idea...

"Finuvien cometh, and indeed she saves the day. Rejoice, for the saving plan is here and we can start the journey."
