LOTR RP Game part 1- Journey to Fornost

ok, I'll help with the scouting.
I'll only be carrying my staff and book so i'll be traveling light...and fast.
BTW, if the journey takes 3 weeks, that only leaves us 1 week (tops) to find the princess (if she's not allready taken), which means we'll be allready tired by the trip and the search won't be too easy...
I think we shouldn't "kill" ourselves running over those hills, cos' we won't be any good when we get on the other side.
My take is travel fast , but still rest at least 2-3 hrs a day...
...we just can't risk losing to our own fatigue...

The Elves have a different resting schedule, of course. Remember the Elves can wait several days before resting but when they DO require more than just a couple of hours.

Ok, folks, time to get going. Grum provides you all the supplies you need, imploring you not to forget the plight of the Cardolani refugees.

Aside from the humanitarian aspect of all this, Andorial, it's handy because you wanted to get to Fornost anyway, and with the East/West road sealed you were NEVER going to get there.

Vardalain plans to maintain in front, just behind the rangers.
He has only his weapons and a few potential useful herbs with him.

Times like this I am surrprised the film/book fans didn't ask to bring some Lembas from Rivendell with them...

You set out, then. You fear Dunlending patrols in those early days, but none seem to come. Soon, you are clear of the road, headed through tangled countryside, and in a few days you are within sight of the Weather Hills.

Perhaps we should rest before crossing the hills, so that we may do it swiftly. Also, we should be very carefull at night, trolls might be around...

You have never heard of trolls this far out; still, nothing is impossible.

"I think i can stay for watch this night" says Vardalain.

That night- crows. Circling overhead. Almost as if mocking you.

vardalain knows just how to mind these signs.
He'll be carefull to wake the others if anything happens

(the lembras would have been something for our elf players and maybe our dunedain to know)
I keep my sword in my hand while I sleep tonight

And so now, the hills.

This is slow, gruelling process. These hills are hardly moutains but they seem to be harsh to corss, especially as you do not know the ground. At your pace, up and down and up and down movement is VERY wearying.

As far as you know, these hills are meant to be uninhabited. But you keep finding evidence of old campsites.

Some time today you should pass the border into Arthedain, but you feel no safer.

I maintain my position in the group, carefully looking around probing for any dangers.

(Brief update please. This game advances quicker than the Star Wars one...)

Blimey, and I've been trying to slow the pace as well...

You guys are currently on a gruelling cross-country run, needing to get to the North-South road in Arthedeain to intercept and save the Princess. You have to go cross-country because the East/West road has been cut off by the Dunlendings, looking for you since you raided them.

It takes you a week to cross the Weather Hills. You are each of you now exhausted, and pitifully short on supplies. The Dwarf and Hobbit are lasting the best.

*Aniica goes with every one else........*

Andorial walks with Vardalain...

(How come the wee folk are lasting better?)

"We are running low on food. Maybe we should hunt for a bit?" asks Anglomir.

*Looks at the group....shakes her head.....*

"What I wouldn't do to get this group in gear......"

(Hobbits and Dwarves have remarkable constitutions. As you can't sprint across hills their size was not a problem, so their constitution wins out)

I assume you guys will push on towards the road then.

Does anyone whose name begins with an A (which is only partially narrowing things, I know) have anything that might help you find the Princess' convoy?

If you are refering to Garisal, he'll only be too happy to help....😄
