Take notes bioware.
May have a beta this year, at least! Which indicates that it'll be early next year, since they want a very short beta, as I recall various Anet people saying a few times.
Well, here is the mysterious 'eighth' profession (only the seventh to be revealed, but was known as the eighth as it was the one least known about and it was assumed t would be revealed last)
It looked like a Gunner on the silhouette, and lots of people speculated names like Alchemist and the like, but there was definitely a vibe that it would be a technological type. So here he is, the Engineer!

Speculation abut turrets had been rife for a while, making this class in many ways a successor to the Ritualist (in a gameplay rather than lore sense, of course).
This leaves the 'Mesmer' (assumed but not yet certain) as number eight. It seems likely they wanted to reveal it some time back but they won't release an unfinished profession, and it seems the Mesmer is giving them difficulty.

Quick query, how are classes handled in GW2? Do we have the standard t"healer", "tank", "damagedealer" stereotypical classes, or something more?
No, there is no dedicated healer (priest or monk) there is no dedicated anything, every class ;
Warrior
Thief
Ranger
Elementalist
Mesmer
Engineer
Gaurdian
Necromancer
can be played in a Damage / Support / Battlefield control.
What differs from class to class is the Maximum HP and armor level, and weapons available to use.

Meh!
Anyway, new interview! I've actually known the info in this one for a while now (I'm part of the site that did the interview) but had to keep quiet on it until we had everything ready to release. Which wasn't easy 😛
