Thanks a ton Peach! I'll give that a go and see if I can actually make some money haha.

Just curious, did this game ever get good enough that they could start charging people to play it or is it still freeware?

No way will they start charging people to play. It is free forever (well you must buy the game but that is it). There are small micro transactions that you can do but they are only small things and not pay-to-win.

It is a real good game! Check out a review or check out one on YouTube by AngryJoe.

This is amazing and hilarious and so much fun. I did a livestream of it tonight, and we made our way through the entire thing thus far.

New dungeon wheeeee! I kinda love dungeons. I'm three paths (path two of SE, which some of my guildies did last night and really liked, and Jotun and Seer in Arah...which I'm not worried about because we did the hardest, Mursaat, first, and can do Forgotten in under 45 minutes with no problems) away from completing my dungeon master title, and I do weekly dungeon livestreams for GW2G. So that has me excited. Too bad the patch isn't until next Tuesday, else I'd very likely be streaming it Sunday evening.

PvP stuff I care less about, but custom arenas and the ability to password lock them is interesting - I may create one for use of my guild, so we can mess around together and not have to worry about other people jumping in.

Right now I'm leveling my warrior, who is about ~20 levels from being my 7th level 80 (just my engineer left and then I've got every profession), finishing up my t3 set on my mesmer (just the helm left!), saving laurels to buy the everlasting cat tonic, and, as I clearly hate myself, I've started slowly collecting the items to make Bifrost. Because clearly I really need a second legendary. Sigh...

I'm not going to actively work on this one though - for starters I am not buying another goddamn precursor. Not a chance in hell. My fellow guild leaders are also starting on their second legendaries (they have Kraitkin and the Dreamer, and are working on Bifrost and Twilight), and they both agree. We'll casually work on the individual components and hope that the scavenger hunt pops up in the meantime...because **** buying another precursor. I've done it once, I'm not doing it again, and I already know how to get the rest of what I need while spending minimal money.

New dungeon is only available for two weeks...and they're adding a new stat type but the nodes to get it are account bound and only available in that dungeon...

Not gonna lie, that kind of bugs me. That isn't much time at all, and this is an especially bad time to add something so limited in availability.

Incidentally, the NPCs in the new content are not completely rubbish in action, which is a step up from one of the issues I mentioned before (and as they aren't built up as being legendary in the first place, expectations are also lower).

Ending the storyline in a grouped dungeon is still something that excludes a lot of players though. In a weird sense, the time limit on the dungeon actually helps solve that because it's much easier to find a group when the dungeon is new (I was able to run up to it and go straight in with people there; if things always worked like that there'd be no issue), but that is indeed completely outweighed by the basic annoyance of having a dungeon that won;t be available soon.

I don't like the whole idea of time limited content; I played through nearly all of GW1's stuff years after it came out, which was great, and other friends played the stuff they released after I started playing at a later date. Just find a way to leave all the damn content in; there are always people will will come later and want to play.

I actually really, really enjoy this dungeon, so I'm a bit annoyed it's going away so fast. The NPCs are actually helpful, the mechanics of it are fun, and it's a decent challenge. At that, it's a challenge because of the mechanics, and not just because you need to beat the numbers (like high level fractals - one of the many issues I have with them). Done it three times so far, probably going to do it a billion more before the 12th.

I do understand why they're making it limited, as it'll draw people back to the game (want to try out this new content? Well you don't have much time in which to do it). It's just...yeah, way too short. It should be up for the full month.

I mean, cos at the very least...I need all of those cooking recipes!

Apparently there's no new AI for the companions, so it goes to show what can be done by giving them a skillset that the AI can actually use properly, though there is some suspicion that they have been given higher armour and/or health pools (fine by me- whatever it takes to make them feel useful).

That and that they consistently rez downed players.

Well, they did do massive pet upgrades that included new AI as well increasing health and armor pools, so it's possible that NPCs were given a similar update.

Also, pets are really good in open world now. I haven't tried in a dungeon yet (because the only dungeon we've done the past few days is MF and I use my mesmer or guardian there), but since we do CoE a ton and I always use my ranger there, I'll find out shortly just how good they are now. If they're good enough, I may actually abandon my trap build!

So, tip for the end boss fight in Molten Facility:

Kill the Berserker first, not the Firestorm. We've done Firestorm first every time, and then decided to do Berserker last night. The last stage is significantly easier if the Berserker is killed first.

I recently started this game. I'm loving it so far!

I understand Guild Wars 2 is now claiming to be the fastest selling MMO ever based on its western performance in its first nine months. The anniversary is here soon and I suspect we may hear the total sales then, but the nine month figure is meant to be about three million.

I don't doubt it. The games been outstanding so far.

Free trial this weekend:

Also I'm kind of loving a lot of the recent changes. Dungeon rewards and champion loot bags <3 I'm making so much money with these (which is good as I'm nearing the home stretch on legendary #2 and spending money as fast as I get it).

Game is officially a year old! There's some really neat stuff in the infographic in this post:

I was interviewed as part of a community retrospective about the game by a community site:

Also I'll be getting my hands on some exclusive stuff soon...

So, today is patch day - new Super Adventure Box content, as well as crafting update, ascended weapons, death of magic find, and legendary updates...

I actually was able to preview the SAB stuff last week. It's really neat 😄

Been 2 weeks since I last played. I joined a guild, but I was hoping to level with others and everyone else in the guild is already max. Playing alone is still fun though. I'll probably give this stuff a go

Well, most people have been playing the game for a year now, so yeah. Most people will be at max level unless they're leveling alts. Even I've gone a bit 'meh' on leveling now that I've got one of each profession maxed out 😛

So, new Tequatl fight is hard. My server hasn't beaten it yet, which frankly doesn't surprise me at all, JQ is not good at the whole coordination thing.

Beaten Taco a few times now, I only have one achievement left for that one (the hidden treasure one), which I've only not gotten because I've been running the turret defenses instead of fighting in the big zerg up front.

New patch today, I got to check it out early...

And new hairstyles being added today...I really think I need to give my mesmer this one as it's just so pretty...

Any one still playing this/new people playing it?

Prolly one of my favorite game worlds from a lore/worldbuilding standpoint

Heart of Thorns comes out in two months! October 23rd.
