Humanity is unlikely to end in our lifetime though, so who cares?

i think humans give themselves way too much credt sometimes. we always talk about how we can't ever die and humans can overcome all odds. personally i think that's bull. the world can end in so many ways, not just human hands. asteriods have already plundered the world once (as we believe), whats stopping it from happening again? Bruce Willis? the sun could produce a solar flare (which it does at times) and whats stopping it from charring the world's ozone layer and atmosphere? there is nothing we can do against it. entire gallaxies can be swallowed by a blackhole...whats stopping that if it happens to ours?
