Eating her curds and whey;"

Curds and whey = cottage cheese

Why?

There a chances there could be drastic changes made to marvel comics, would not be the first time Disney butcher stories and the characters in them. True they make them classic for kids, but I don't want to see characters like wolverine unable to kill or have blood in them.

This may not happen, but it very well could.

I don't think you need to worry, mate, I think that's unlikely. The purpose behind the buy was to allow Disney to connect to a young male audience and not just become associated with the tame, tween female image. I imagine it will a lot like the Warner/DC relationship.

If anything it will probably be better promotion for Marvel, in addition to the titles that sell well, there will be a push for kid friendly titles. Also it opens up new venues in terms of TV series and movies.

Plus Disney have said they will honour any previous movie deals made by Marvel e.g. the Avengers movie.

I agree, but there still a chances they will push to make all the comics kid friendly which would destroy many of the characters in marvel of who they are. Hopefully they just deal mostly with tv, movies which could be great due to the money they have, but could also be a problem, because Disney rarely if at all makes R movies. They dont even make that many PG 13 if I recall correctly.

I think that was already covered. Disney has multiple studios(Miramax, Touchtone) that produces rated "R" material. As for the comics, they probably wont change a thing. Maybe add comic books for their Disney tv stars (Hannah Montana, Jonas, etc.). Too early to worry about.

It's always possible but I think that's unlikely. If they do, I'm right there with you on abandoning Marvel. But maybe some people said similar stuff when Warner took DC.

We have to bear in mind, even for the richest of companies on the planet, 4 billion is a lot of money. Disney aren't going to break what they buy. If anything any new titles will be in addition to the current ones, not replacing them. Plus there's a better chance that a much richer company is more likely to support cult titles like Cap Britain which didn't sell as well, so that's a thumbs up in my book.

Disney have done this to try and connect with us, not to alienate us. We are the audience who don't care about them and they want us to. They saw we care about Marvel, so Disney said "make mine Marvel." I could be wrong, but I think when Marvel starts branching out into more television and maybe movie deals, this will be much better received by the comic community.

I completely agree, your right. I think I may have been jumping the gun.

What's puzzling is that what I've been saying since the beginning is just being repeated.

Even now there are factual statements out that suggest there's nothing to worry about, beyond suggestion even, people still do this:

hey, you can't blame people for panicking

Sure you can.

Like I said earlier, Marvel was purchased for $50 million back in 1987. Being worth 80 times as much 22 years later, that sounds pretty good.

I was actually surprised that it was worth that much.

Does Stan get any more money out of this???

I'd love to be in Stan's basement counting his money with him 😗
