And then you have students like me who would find that interesting, as a child, that the President wanted me to stay in school. I watched Dan Quayle f*** up the spelling bee, why wouldn't I listen the the president tell me to stay in school?
Of course, I'm was the exception to the rule and most kids wouldn't give a **** what a boring dude in a suit on TV has to say.

Really depends how he presents himself and if he sticks to the agenda of "stay in school, educate yourself, it will pay off in the future". If he pulls what Reagan did and goes off on political agenda-based tangents, sure, he'll be the clown.
Nothing wrong with the president taking the time to address children, it's a matter of how it's done; I'll hold judgement until after. Bush read to elementary school children; there was nothing wrong with that, it was smaller scale and little more than a PR stunt; still okay.
