What some dinosaur experts have to say, interesting conversation...

I tend to agree that any feathers at all would likely hinder the scare factor.
Fun theory about Chris Pratt's character...
...personally I doubt it, but it's still interesting to consider.
I know I'm late to the party, but I just saw this. Very enjoyable. I like where they went with it for the most part. 👆
The one thing I didn't care for is how domesticated the raptors were. I don't mind them being trainable to some extent, but the end sequence where Blue basically had a "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!" moment with I-Rex after reconnecting with Pratt, was a bit much... Even by JP standards. I was honestly waiting for their 'dino-convo' to be subtitled. That's how over-the-top it seemed(to me, at least.)
Still a good movie, though. 👆
I enjoyed the movie. I thought it was a little slow to start, but it kept me interested. Though to be honest, I'm not a fan of the series and only saw bits and pieces of the original (school bus trips, ABC reruns, etc). I did have a few questions afterward, namely about the ending. I thought I just wasn't paying attention to why the t-rex was important. A co-worker had to explain that it was the original one.
TBH I was having too much fun watching Detective Goren play a war monger.

Liked the whole movie and everything but i'm still pissed that they changed the Trexs' roar. They could have at least gone all out...,just sayin ;-)

They changed the roar? How so? Well, I mean, it's the same T-rex, just older. Maybe they were accounting for aged vocal cords?
Oh yeah, the Roar was definitely different. Unless they change it by the time it reaches dvd, we'll have to come back to this and double check. Watched the movie twice now and there's no mistaking the original ionic roar. It's kind of like hearing the pur of a 1964 1/2 shelby cobra rev to life...,unforgettable.
Either way i was just busting balls. I'm well pleased with the movie.
JURASSIC WORLD SEQUEL DETAILS TEASED BY COLIN TREVORROW
[It will not be] just a bunch of dinosaurs chasing people on an island...That’ll get old real fast."
"I feel like the idea that this isn’t always going to be limited to theme parks, and there are applications for this science that reach far beyond entertainment. And when you look back at nuclear power and how that started, the first instinct was to weaponise it and later on we found it could be used for energy."
"And this isn’t something necessarily that was in the book but is a seed that I wanted to plant in this movie, is that might be able to grow in more of these movies if they decide to make more of them, is: What if this went open source? It's almost like InGen is Mac, but what if PC gets their hands on it? What if there are 15 different entities around the world who can make a dinosaur?"
"And Dr Wu says in the film, when he's warning Dr Mesrani, 'we’re not always going to be the only ones who can make a dinosaur'. I think that’s an interesting idea that even if we don’t explore fully in this film, there is room for this universe to expand. I shouldn’t use the word universe, because people will think we’re making a Jurassic World universe -- we’re not."

So again, after the colossal catastrophes of the past 4 times, humans will now be using dinosaurs as pets and domesticated animal labor? Resurrecting extinct species is cool, but I don't see the utility or practical applications they could provide to society, if I am perceiving this nuclear energy analogy correctly.
Another interview with Trevorrow about the sequel...

One of the earlier scripts were utilising them for military purposes.
Not so much training them but mixing their DNA with humans...
