Superman vs Thor (Full-Potential Battle)

Who wrote the Wonder Woman and Superman comparison Raoul? The entire Ulsain Bolt, Bruce Lee moment with Batman again? McDuffie?

I recall their being an argument with the writer of that issue on some board, between Diana and Clark or something and next issue we had this comparison. If I'm right someone was butt sore.

Sometimes it feels like comics are using a "vs. forum" set up. Eventually it'll be fanboys writing for fanboys methinks.

Funny how Clark was like, "WTF are you noobs talking about."

superman can and has reacted at light speed, even within the last three years.
This. I've been reading quite a bit of Superman the last few years. Actually a big fan of the New Krypton storyline. But I don't know what you're referring to when you state he's reacted at light speed. Do you have examples in mind?

final crisis, when he sees barry for the first time. it's not the first time he's processed information at lightspeed though.

in up, up and away (2006), he was able to follow and interpret electronic signals travelling at the speed of light.

Barry and Wally were approaching light speed in that scene of Final Crisis. And frankly, all the Anti-Life people reacted to them too.

Seeing things going at light speed doesn't equate to being able to react and move your body at light speed. That argument has been made against Silver Surfer plenty of times and it's a cogent one. And following electronic signals, do you have scans?

i disagree about the FC stuff, tbh.

and yeah, one sec...

^ Does he do anything afterwards or is he just scanning?

sorry, here's the next page:

^ Well... that's "reacting" to lightspeed, but not with physical movement. Moving your body physically to exceed light speed is harder than processing light speed movement. Same as I can follow a lot of things going on in a video game, but I cannot necessarily react fast enough to do anything about it.

Or maybe my standards for FTL combat speed are just higher than others.

i didn't say he was reacting in that panel. i said follow and interpret. 😛

thats a bunch of crap man. i dont care how fast supes is.

The supes fan boys always result to SPEED casue thats all supes has on thor. And it aint enough.

50/50 at best id place bets on thor though if he fights smart.

Agreed. Thor's power level and skill level is on another level than Superman's along with his experience and warrior like mentality. Supes has him barely beat in durability imo and strength is too close to call although I favor Superman.

Thor craps on him if he gets to use his full array of powers.

then there is the fact that Superman didn't want to go Speed Of light.

Content!

Are you sure? I thought Superman achieved light speed to do the deed as the faster he went made it possible! Exclamation points are so annoying.

Also how much Thor have you read do properly weigh in here?

There is no comparison. And his just flat out a lot more powerful than Superman.
Yep. Thor is on a whole other level powerwise.

i don't agree that Thor is that much more skilled than Superman. Experience wise? Sure, but it's worth remembering that Superman himself waged war in DC's Asgard for a thousands years, leading an army when DC's Thor was taken out of the fighting. Superman isn't exactly a newcomer.

He's no slouch at all when it comes to fighting skills, having trained with Batman and Wonder Woman.

I read that and I don't think experience is a deciding factor at all. Supes has been in just as many dogfights as Thor, but his mentality is completely different. Thor's people actually grew restless and bored when living above oklahoma due to no threats being around.

They are all warriors and would actually rather die in battle than sit at home at peace. It's insane but Thor is their leader and foams at the mouth in battle while Supes can throw down with the best of them but would live a very happy life if things were peaceful. Just saying that this gets factored in somewhat.

We can argue over percentages but no one is saying Thor doesn't have the edge there. Supes main trump is speed while Thor's is power level imo.

Everything else like strength and durability are pretty much neck and neck.

i honestly disagree. yes, thor is a born and bred warrior, but when things get bad, superman can hang with the best of them.

In your opinion. This is one of the most heated debates ever. It's like the Darkseid vs. Thanos one before all the bad showings. People are for Thor or for Superman. Very little middle ground here.

I said he can, but he doesn't live for battle while Thor does. Thor lives to fight while superman does what he must.

i still don't see why that would put superman at a disadvantage, though.
