Ep2 Title: Rise of the Empire?

"Fate of the Republic" doesn't sound to bad I guess.
Most people disagree with me here, but I would actually be satisfied with the title "The Rebellion Rise Forth." It sounds traditional and similar to the other titles.

I wonder if GL will go with an obviously SW title of something that doesn't initially sound Star Wars?

Well he never said he wouldn't be posting, just that he wouldn't be able to devote as much time to the board as he would have liked.

I'm with DD here...Rebellion Rise Forth does sound like the bester of the two..it's more action oriented.

But it doesn't mean anything. Most of these titles don't. The SW titles say something about the story. They are like chapter titles, guiding us through the story.

TPM: the beginning of an evil plot

ANH: A new beginning, new opportunities in the Star Wars, which are dominated by evil
ESB: Evil strikes back, a major setback (will they make it)
ROTJ: Hope returns and finishes the battle

Rebellion Rise Forth doesn't really mean anything. It could be the title of EpVI.

So really you think we're after something more like The Evil Revealed, or The Beginning of the End, or the Road to Disaster, or The Traitorous Blow, or something, at this point?

No, that's to specific. I like Rise of the Empire. It's dramatic, sober and in line with the others.

Right, although there's no precedent for repeating a noun or verb yet.

WHat sort of title do you think Episode III wopuld have, then? I always thought that would have been more of a 'Rise of X' thing, before now.

Well, maybe. I do think Ep3 will have something like a dramatic cliffhanger as well. So for me, I think the Empire will be in pretty much control. The fate of the universe is inevitable by the end of the PT. So "Rise" feels a little late IMHO. Maybe "Fall of the Jedi", but that'd be too much repetition.

Faith of a jedi.
Jedi conflict.
The coruption of the senate.
The begining of a rebellion.
Growing of an empire.

Which you are entitled to and that is fine by me, but as I said it was only brainstorming.
I must admit I have no clue off the title and I guess nobody else have either, just mere speculations lightyears away from the final title.

Dark Horizons had a report saying in was either "The Evil Within" or "Masters Of The Force" which is what I like so it must be fake.

Maybe it's just one word difference, like with Revenge of the Jedi. Maybe it's "Rise of the Sith". We've only heard that name in the PT so far, I think it deserves a title.
