Ep2 Title: Rise of the Empire?

Well, I had a tip off that one of the following would be the title.

The Evil Within
The Darkness Within
The Conflict Within

And today I recieved another email that says it can confirm it. Unbfortuately I can't confirm either email is a genuine source.

Oh this is frustrating.. Those might work..but I think queeq does have a point...it would be nice to see Sith in the title...to give it more prominance in the saga.

Those titles don't work for me. Too vague, too abstract, so not telling anything. But keep trying, good titles are hard.

That's exactly why I like them. "The Evil Within" could be about Anakin, Palpatine or Dooku.

But it doesn't mean anything. Sounds like a bad tv docudrama. Or Danielle Steel.

Well "The Phantom Menace" and "A New Hope" don't really mean anything either.

Yes they do. TPM is about the political intrigue: a danger that covers up the real danger i.e. Palpy's rise. A New Hope: Rebels have Death Star plans, destroy Death Star, the rise of Luke. It says quite a lot storywise.

queeq, be honest. BEFORE you saw the move did "The Phantom Menace" make any sense. It was only AFTER I had viewed it that I could appreciate what it meant, and even then it still had different meanings to different people.

Being used to the Dennis caracther I thought,before watching the movie, the menace was Anakin. A little rascal.🙂

True. I did not know what it was about. But I didn't know HOW the Empire would strike back or WHAT the new hope was after I saw the movie. Yet is says a heck of a lot more than: The Evil Within, Danger Lurking, Rise of Evil, Darkness Rules, Darkness Rising. That could fit any movie or dime novel, not SW. IMHO OC.

But so could A New Hope or The Phantom Menace. ESB ands ROTJ are kinda SW specific.

I know we talked about this in another topic, but the translation of TPM,into Norwegian, told more of what to expect. Of course the translator had seen the movie and because of this could "nail" the title to tell a little bit more than TPM. If you translate the Norwegian title back it would be Hidden/Disguised Treath.
I love the title TPM, it startled me in the beginning, but It really made me wonder and the yearning for the film grew to the extrem much because of the title.

I must admit, I'm with finti. I also presumed that Anakin was the phantom menace the title refurred to. After seeing the film I realised that it was a mis-leading and totally class title. Lets hope Lucas has another tucked up his sleeve which will hold cryptic clues to Palpy's backroom dealings over the last ten years and his FUTURE plans for an army for the universe.....(dramatic pause)....THE EMPIRE!

Wasn't there a rumor a while back about the title being Shakespeare like?

What would be Shakespeare like. Othello, Romeo and Juliet, Henry V, Hamlet,Julius Ceasar, what else did he write?

The Tempest, Macbeth, etc. But I can't really see what a "Shakespeare" like title would mean.
