Fairy Tail

On the new chapter-

Spoiler:
Yikes, that puts Dragon Slayer magic at the top of the power charts again! Well, barring Zeref. The Zeref and Dragon plots seem to be getting more intertwined.

He also looks noticeably shocked when Natsu and Gazille get back up from the dragon force barrage.

Besides, Natsu assumes he can beat everyone as well, but that doesn't stop him from going all out when the battle is on the line. There is really nothing to suggest that Sting wasn't giving it his all, and even remarks that Natsu was just too strong.

He was giving it his all with those emotions, but take a look at the next page- he's basically trying to justify why this level of power should be working. "This killed a dragon, so it should kill you!". He's not digging deeper, he's making excuses and relying on his power over his emotions.

^ I thought Dragonslayer magic was pretty much always at the top? Especially since Natsu almost always beats the top opponent with it no matter what magic they are using.

That doesn't really prove much except that even Sting's max power is nothing compared Natsu. He gave it everything he had, and was surprised when that wasn't enough. He had already maxed after using the dragonforce. That's where the fear of losing came in to play. He went as far as supplementing all his power with that of Rogue to try and win.

Eh, Godslayer magic seems to be a bit better, but then there's stuff like Titan Magic, Crash magic, Hades' magic, etc..

But, again, it wasn't pushing him emotionally further.

When Natsu's in trouble, it's "I must win for my guild mates!" When Sting is in trouble, he tries to convince himself his power is enough or activates the next level.

Yeah, but those people are also much more experienced as well. It's not so much the magic as it is the experience and the growth that the wielder has with it. Lucy and Angel are a perfect example of experience level difference. Angel pretty much trumped everything Lucy did.

The fear of losing is a great emotional tool. Again, I agree that Sting was more emotional about the death of his cat than he was about losing to Natsu, but Istill think it's pretty clear that he was using more power against Natsu than he did against Jiemma based of the level of the attacks.

^Sting and Rouge were in dragon force when the faced off with Natsu.

I'd have to say that those attacks were stronger than the one that he used on Jiammel (or whatever his name is).

Also, keep in mind that it was a surprise attack and Sbartooth's master was caught off guard. I would assume that his shields/defense weren't up which is why Sting's attack was able to bust a hole through him.

^ I would agree.

Yea, that's a big factor.

Anime filler over. Sting and other dude getting introduced in the next episode.

Already? looks like its time for me to start watching the arc then 😛

new chapter out...and the plot thickens..

So the king will talk to Fairytail about the situation IF they win the tournie?

What does that even mean? What is talking to the king going to accomplish when he's already decided to mish-mash things up.

Also, we have gotten plenty of hints, already, that Fairy Tail succeeds in going back in time: Zeref knows who Natsu is but current Natsu does not know Zeref. That should clearly indicate that the time system in Fairy Tail is a closed loop. Grandfather paradox is not possible: something will stop Natsu from killing his proverbial grandfather.

So, I'll skip us ahead 50 or so chapters and just reveal what's going to happen, now: they go back in time, interact with/fight stuff, come back to the present, and do something or another to stop the big apocalypse. It will have to do with their talk with Zeref 400 years in the past. Bam. Now we know the resolution of the next 2 arcs. You're welcome.

The audience with the King will probably help get Lucy out of jail or something.

And yeah, I think you're right, its a time loop of sorts. But we have a peak into the future, with all of them dead. Was that Levy? yeah, I think it was Levy narrating that they all died or something.

Maybe the time loop will be broken and they'll all live happily ever after

Maybe that's it.

Ahh, yes. There's that. You're probably right about your conclusion: they'll break the timeloop.

Hm, disappointed Mirajane's not on the front team, though the second team is definitely dangerous, which they might need. We might finally get to see Mira against a tough foe, hopefully ^^

A team of Natsu, Mirajane and Wendy? I'm in!

Like how Laxus always has to be in the tournament fights. He is like a crutch lol.

The enemy has a lightning user (possibly lightning god-slayer).

As tactical choice go, he's too obvious.

Similarly Erza. Anyone else can be swapped out, but Laxus and Erza? They're just in.

Why has Erza's hotness overshadow'd her awesomeness recently. Is it too much to ask for Hiro to have Erza look cool w/o being fanservice. I'd complain about Juvia but she isn't shown as much.

I also hope Mira can have a serious fight for once. Wonder what ever became of Jinemba and I wonder if Sting's new friendship force will do any good: that's what I'm naming Sting's new found anger.

She was *really* awesome in Pandemonium...

Wonder what ever became of Jinemba

Good question...

I do expect him to be more dangerous now.

But afterwards she became another source of bewbs. It was the same in the previous arc but its really been getting on my nerve recently.

So I take it we get one really awesome moment per evey 3-5 scenes of fanservice.

I sure hope Sting is a threat now besides using amps.

You mean, during the scenes when everyone, include the guys, were in swimsuits and such?
