Got back from work, could of actually read this morning (or at work), but want to enjoy the chapter on my own time.
There was a interesting remark from Natsu, stating he does not care for the actual competition and he wanted to focus on Lucy. He did not mention anything about the idea of him being pick to go save Lucy, because he was a perfect candidate, due to the magic absorbing machine.
Bacchus getting one-shot by Sting was a sad moment, but it further proves that he has decent offensive skills, but horrible defense. Going back to Erza comment about how strong he was, I guess she was humble or only saw him at his best or she has gotten way stronger afterwards (meeting Lucy afterwards & on etc...).
Elfman was never top 10 in Fairy Tail manga from the beginning to the end. He was so swag by Bacchus in their match and only won with a that lizard spike form. Bacchus should of at least learn some projectile attack's, or wore steel bracer gloves. :derp:
Minerva command all ST member's to avoid Jura and Kagura, but no mention of the Erza or Laxus. There a few speculation's here:
1) Save the best for alast
2) She knows they're not on the move
Minerva the brain of the team, she isn't gonna under estimate a guy who one-shot a whole team (Raven Tail) and a goddess who massacre 100 monster's, including a boss, that might of been tough for Jura himself.
From the beginning of the introduction of Jura, I never thought he was strong or anything, compared to Erza at the time. I was "what the hell?" I bet Erza can be one of the 10 saints with ease. I guess that's wishful thinking thanks to the time-skip and seeing how hype up Jura is. 🙄
I hope Kagura does not show us her real blade in this arc, maybe for a future arc, where Erza force to fight her, because of our blue hair man!
Lastly Mirajane abilities came in handy. I have always thought she can only turn into her demon form's. I wonder where the other 2 cat's are hiding. 😛erv:

Note his style- He has good defense because in hand to hand he's hard to hit. Elfman couldn't land a finger on him *once*.
If someone of solid offense (not exceptional, just solid) does manage to connect, though, it can do a real number on him.

Not all magic types are so flexible. He's primarily a HtH type, who happens to be able to augment it with magic. Since his magic's in his hands, it might smash up gloves quickly too, and his hands are still super-tough for most purposes.
Bacchus getting one shot was a cheap shot. Sure, Bacchus noticed it, but it was too late.
Erza had high regards for Bacchus but keep in mind that ever since Erza made her debut, she's been with Natsu and friends all the time. Bacchus may have grown stronger, but Erza has been going up against the top badies around. Its likely that Erza has just grown too strong for Bacchus to keep up.
As for avoiding Kagura and Jura, its because they already have a gauge of what these two can do. Erza and Laxus on the other hand, even if they showed some awesome stuff during the tournament, still isnt enough to say that they are on the level of Jura. So, my money is that they are being under estimated.
Another point to ponder, once Sting and Rouge went DF, everyone including Minerva thought that it was over and that Natsu and Gajeel would be pimped slap to hell. But it was the other way around, Natsu pimped slap Rouge and Sting.
Everyone now knows that Fariy Tail is strong, but most still dont see them as above Sabertooth. Which, base on Natsu's performance, they are.
Thanks for the replies. Now, I encounter a new topic on other forum's regarding Marvis and the Fairy Tail 5-man team. Some believe Marvis is cheating by informing the team during the game about which plan to use, while other's (me too) are saying they're synchronizing, like how battle friendship manga are and they have already known the plan ahead of time and was only waiting till the right time. What's your opinion?
Personally I don't mind, if it was true, because Lucy the main concern now and winning the tournament is just extra icing to the cake (fame + cash). FT does not have to be super righteously, but I feel bad for the uninformed guild's, who are friends of sorts.

I'd say the latter. Marvis calculated enemy information, then threw in some fortune telling, then told them, "Stand there for two minutes, then scatter in this pattern," or such beforehand.
How is that cheating? Its like coach giving advice to his team before the game. Marvis doesn't have powers like Charles, and its very clear in the manga that she just memorized everything about the other guilds, their skills, how they fight and stuff like that. And base on that, she made predictions on how things are going to go down and made battle plans for her team.
If that's cheating, the techincally, Sabertooth is cheating even more. Thier Master just got smoked by Sting and the most probably and obvious replacement would be Minerva, thus making her the new Master of Sabertooth. If she's the new master, then she shouldn't be participating the the final battle since Masters arent allowed to participate. Now thats cheating. Also, since she's probably the "new master" her giving orders on what to do, like avoiding Jura and Kagura, is the same as Marvis giving advice.
Actualy, now that I thing about it, Sabertooth is cheating.

Oh, there's no doubt that Minerva is dangerous, but its Erza. Next to Natsu, she has the most "nakama" power up. Standing up to Jose, taking out that member of orasion seis that handed jellal his ass, and even suddenly getting a boost to pawn that tree guy (whats his face anyways) not to mention killing all 100 monsters that included a big bad beasty that's comparable to a saint mage.

Honestly, I dont know. I've been waiting for Laxus to get his arss kicked since the start of the magic games. Didnt expect him to mow through the entire Raven tail guild which was awesome as he's my fav char in fairy tail.
Perhaps now is the time for Laxus to get wtf'd up. Or then again, he seems to be getting some love...so who knows. Here's hoping that he once again gets some love and pawns who ever gets in his way. (but secretly, I'm hoping that he comes upon rouge and or sting and beats them up big time 😛)
