Ha, perhaps. That last post of mine seemed very acerbic, but I really enjoyed the game. Something in the complete meshing of elements made it into something memorable. I am not quite as forgiving of it as some reviews, however. The feeling of BEING Batman, and the variety of tactics and scenarios you encountered, was the most fun for me.
The Riddler "encounters" were cool, the individual tokens were not. At least for me. So meh. I enjoyed the Szazz [sic] phone segments and races though.

At some point down the line, I'll probably get an itch to play it, and I'll do the "Plus" mode for the challenge. I'm sure I'll enjoy the added challenge. Right now I'm good though.
Yeah, I think you will enjoy the added challenge, especially with Freeze as opposed to your first playthrough. All the gadgets, Riddler trophies, and stuff you earn or collect also carry over onto the New Game Plus difficulty after the first Riddler encounter in the church, which kinda made it more enticing for me to complete than Arkham Asylum.
And in regards to your previous post on the Freeze battle, I didn't feel I had that kind of luxury with time when it came to waiting for the right time to make a move or hiding from him, regardless of the difficulty level I did it on (never played the game on easy). Even when I was hiding under the floor vents, he would just shoot those ice grenade things where I was at. And just because the game told you ways on how to attack him from the bat-computer, didn't mean I or other players automatically knew how to execute all or most of them from the get-go. I don't think I ever figured out the place in the room where you could glide long enough to do a glide kick on him, for instance. And it wouldn't of made sense for there to have been henchmen during the Freeze fight methinks, aside from the fact neither Joker's or Penguin's men would be on Victor's side, and him attacking you with his freeze gun while you're busy fighting lackies would just be cheap. Freeze's suit automatically jams your detective mode if you spam it enough on New Game Plus anyway, so you can only guess where he is afterward if you don't already see him. Gave me more tension than the Scarecrow bits from Asylum from what I remember.

Interesting, I'm the exact opposite. Within reason, of course (I don't want "The Elder Scrolls: Batman" in terms of freedom). The vibrancy of the city, and the ability to pop in and out of the main story, was a major draw for me.
Same here. More often than not I tend to enjoy games more that have a more open environment anyway, and Arkham City's I thought was reasonable enough given the settings.
