He's pretty whiny and annoying.
The gameplay is nothing new, it's identical to the last game, so if you liked that then that's okay. It's much easier.
Unfortunately it keeps freezing up on me during the cutscene at the end of the second level (and of course it doesn't recognize that I've beaten the level once I restart it...just like with the first game...), so I haven't been able to get too far. Probably for the best. It's just...yeah.
Spoiler:
Already they manage to make Vader a weak punk and Starkiller even more of a whiny emo pain in the ass than he was before. Not to mention holy crap overpowered.
Also disappointed that dual-wielding lightsabers does not in any way change saber combat from how it was before.
It also feels much more tedious and repetitive than before.
Cato Neimoidia looks amazing, though. Which is good. Kamino was utterly underwhelming in terms of the graphics. Also characters tend to have a sort of fake plasticy look to them, especially clothing and the such.
The game's been getting pretty poor reviews for a reason.
So I beat the game and the main story is a little over four hours... I also managed to get every achievement within ten.
So yeah, I'm glad I rented rather than bought. 😛
As for Vader...
Spoiler:
He is captured at the end. And no, I am not kidding. However, during the fight with Starkiller Vader is overpowering him the entire time. In fact the only reason Starkiller beats Vader is because he draws the electricity of several generators into himself and shoots it at Vader for almost a minute. Here is the fight.. But the best part is the dark side ending puts the fight into an entirely new light. In it another clone pops up and kills Starkiller, at which point Vader stands up and is completley unhurt. It definetly makes it seem that Darth Vader threw the fight so the Rebels would take him to their secret base. With that said Starkiller has one of the most over the top display of force power ever. Check it out.
As for the planets there were only three: Cato Nemodia, Kamino , and Dagobah. However, you do nothing on Dagonah and it was clearly only in there so they could put Yoda in the game for a few seconds. Its realy funny though. Yoda is completley out of character. In fact he advises Starkiller to follow his vision (Which features his romantic intrest in danger). Which is the exact opposite of what he says to Luke and Anakin...
The gameplay itself is more of the same. And the story is far worse in this one. It finally picked up at the end... But then it ended abruptly. I would not recommend it at all.

Yeah, this game looks really bad from those cutscenes and gameplay. Only two playable levels? Would you kindly **** off with that shit please? Damn, I actually liked the first game as well. It was bloody epic in parts.Guess I'll just wait for the novel. 🙁
The cutscenes are fantasticly done...some of the best I've seen...And this game has just as many, if not more epic parts as the first one does. It's just ridiculous.
Spoiler:for one.
you destroy another star destroyer, just in a different fashion
Don't ***** just for the sake of bitching

But there wasn't anything really epic in the first. Even the "OMG AWESOME" scene everyone loves is more of an epic fail than anything else, on Starkiller's part.
Firstly, I still loved the taking down the Star Destroyer scene, so good. Once I got past the frustrating "tips" on how to take it down and just did it myself, it was very enjoyable.
Also...Both scenes that Vader takes apart Starkiller (once with Palpatine present, the other with the rebels) were pretty awesome, in my opinion. Dark Side ending was pretty badass, too. The "cinematic" after beating that really big rancor creature was cool. A lot of the "cinematic" deaths to various large creatures were pretty epic.
My only gripe with the first one was with the level design. It was entirely linear, allowed little to no freedom, and just sent waves of baddies toward you. Epic and cinematic or not, it wasn't creative enough to hold my interest. I may be spoiled, but I have to compare it to the old Dark Forces games (Jedi Knight in particular). Was the combat as polished in those games? Hell no. But it was a far better game because getting from point A to point B wasn't monotonous and unoriginal.
So yeah, it is cinematic, and a lot of fans will get behind it for that. I can appreciate that stuff. But unless the general approach to level designed changed drastically, I wouldn't even think of touching this game.
There's also this:

I realize a lot of games are having their length cut these days, but when it sharts feeling like some dinky map pack or bonus quest (the kind we used to download as add-ons to full games) is when it's a bit ridiculous. Jedi Knight (again, my blessing and curse for Star Wars comparisons) was 20 large levels (most taking close to an hour on the first play-through), and it felt short and was considered a short-ish game for its time.
Linear, boring levels, emo one-dimensional character, utterly unimproved, far far too short, boring combat, simple-minded platforming, horrible, uninteresting story that can't even end well either way, canon-breaking with Vader using Lightning...
Yeah, there's no redeemable element to this game. Should have been DLC and nothing more, it's that bad. Glad I can return it for a full refund or I'd really feel cheated.
I always wondered about that. Where does this idea come from that machines have some sort of overwhelming weakness to electricity? Hsi suit is probably powered by electricity for christs sake. 😂
Him not using lightning is stupid, but no for that reason, imo. Though my thoughts on that are probably even more nerdy and pathetic than thus demonstrated. 😐
