Teleport into solid ground and other instant-kills: banned?
After consultation with my co-host, we've decided to ban teleportation outright. It just seemed easier to ban this ability rather than try and neuter it to keep things fair. The rules at the start of the second round of the draft will be updated.

When you say "outright", does this include teleporting on one's self for movement purposes or just in an offensive manner?

😐
Let me be as clear as possible on two points:
1. Threatening to quit isn't going to get any changes to the rules made. I just spent 4 or 5 pages listening to Zeuodin threaten that everytime he didn't get his way and I'm a little sick of it. I want everyone to compete and have a good time and have spent a large amount of time and energy to ensure that happens, but if you don't like the rules then there is nothing else I can do.
2. We are not trying to favor any class of character in general or any individual in particular. We are just trying to eliminate as many loopholes as we can before the tourney starts so that everyone is fighting on an even playing field. To that point, we feel that teleportation (like time manipulation or power duplication) opens up the possibility of cheap/instant wins which depend more on a gimmick than actual strategy or debating.
I understand if many of you don't agree with the rules and I'm sure you'd do things a little different in our shoes, but please cut us a little slack with this. We're doing the absolute best we can to keep this fun and fair for everyone.
Teleportation isn't an offensive power. Nor is using an incredibly basic aspect of your powerset a god damned loophole. The choices of characters are already incredibly limited as it is, and choosing to further restrict basic powers makes it much more difficult to choose. That has absolutely nothing to do with making things fair, since some characters are far more negatively affected than others. The list you're using as a measuring stick here assumes that everybody has full use of their powers. Seems like everything aside from punching someone in the face and shooting with your laser eyes will be restricted.
I'm outta this shit.

Please note that time manipulation and power duplication are not strictly offensive powers but are banned for their potential for misuse and exploitation in unfair and difficult to counter ways. Again, from the beginning we said that we would be on the look out for anything that might seem to make the fights unfair. We prefer to err on the side of caution and deal with the controversy now instead of in the middle of a match.
What all are you guys talking about in regards to teleportation? I mean are you talking about just teleporting your opponents and therir attacks, or yourself too? And are we only talking about actual teleportation or is the "no loopholes" thing being used to include every form of it? For instance, would Martian Manhunter be able to turn intangible even though he's technically shifting his mass to another dimension?
