However i'm a bit disturbed by how much fire Eradicator has come under, without anyone posting a shred of evidence that he's over the top. It's the same thing, pretty much, that i've had to deal with with genis for most of the tourney. If you're claiming a character is too strong, you should at least have something you can post to back it up.

What he said. What are people's objections exactly? Because from what I've seen, or even the few complaints I've heard, nothing he's done in my mind puts him anywhere above this level.

The primal Eradicator itself was about to lure and forcibly take control of the B13 virus until Superman and Eradicator (David) tried to stop him by confronting it fused with the remains of the Fortress. They both failed miserably and in a last-ditch David merged with the it and went off into the void.

So it's essentially a program capable of overriding an the incredibly advanced B13 virus (not only that, but it's stated he has the capabilities to to so to everything it comes in contact with), merged with the Fortress of Solitude and becoming powerfull enough so that the combined attacks of Superman and Eradicator couldn't stop, and then further merged with the the David version of Eradicator (you know, the Superman-level only more versatile one).

That's definitley tourney material!

where the hell are kahn and batdude? they need to sort this 🙁

Damn family actually expected me to spend time with them during the holidays. Those bastards. 😐

😛

Ok, there seems to be two major issues to deal with here:

1. Power meshing above the High Herald limit during prep

2. Which version of Eradicator will be used

Batdude and I will be discussing number one in more detail (sorry for the delay but it is the holidays). If we reach a decision that dramatically affects your team/strategy, I'd be willing to extend the add/drop period for another day or so (matches will still start Monday).

As for two, if we are going to ban Fortress Eradicator I need a concrete reason other than he seems too powerful since we don't have a consensus one way or another. The team that drafted him will need to backup any claim they make with him with actual on panel feats.

Oh, and happy holidays. newyear

Well, me, Paul and Phil seem to think he's too powerful. Naturally Blair's not going to agree, he made the pick.

I'm not real familiar with Eradicator sans DOS, what did he exactly do as the "fortress" incarnation that people feel is above herald level (or what do people fear Blair and his partner will claim he can do that's above the limits)

- Power Duplication: Banned - Power copying: Banned - Constructs/Summoning: No summoning and only constructs similar to a Green Lantern's are allowable.

I don't get the formulation of the 1st rule. Is it illegal to replicate powers without copying them (aka giving additional superpowers via matter manip according to given template) or to create dupes of characters?
I'm a bit lost in translation, sorry... sometimes there's moment when you realise your English isn't that perfect.

The meshing limit rule is being discussed since we've had a lot of issues come up because of it. We'll let everyone know what our decision is as soon as we can discuss it fully.

No, that rule is against drafting characters that can absorb/copy powers from either the opposition or from their own teammates. Screwing around with the DNA of your own team isn't against the rules (again if you can prove your team is actually capable of it).

I saw that. I'm only thinking whether that conflicts with "power duplication banned" or not, as amping existing powers (Superman sundipping) is different from say giving Kyle Rayner the body and powers of a Green Martian via matter manip.

Oh, thank you for answering the question🙂 And happy holidays.

1. overriding B13 virus: that's very impressive techologically, but that doesn't push someone beyond herald. (ie. Surfer evolving life on a planetary scale would be just as if not more impressive imo)

2. You said superman and eradicator couldn't stop him AFTER he merged with fortress of solitude. That's a powerup he doesn't have as standard. For example, thor w/ odinforce being all powerful doesn't prevent thor from being drafted. Since they're not drafting eradicator w/ merged fortress mode, I'm not sure why that would be relevant.

just to be clear, I don't know much about eradicator, far less than those of you who objected. But I feel so far the reasons presented haven't been very concrete (ie. "he's too powerful"😉 or specific to him (ie "he had this impressive isolated showing)

just my 2 cents on the issue

Won't be the Fortress Eradicator then discarded as "outside powerup" and not be the reason for banning?

1. It is more impressive.

2. Thor can't get a hold of the Odinforce. The Eradicator can really easily make another fortress of solitude. According to Avlon, he once created it out of some ice and rocks 😐

1. Any reason why you feel it is more impressive?

2. Assuming that's true, that he could create it out of ice and rocks, wouldn't the tactic be banned anyways if it puts him over herald (I know batdude and thekahn are currently working to clarify the limit rule). And second, you could say Superman can easily sundip or amp similarly and exceed herald limits as well...can you not?

Just my thoughts...

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Alright. From what I've seen and heard of the Eradicator he doesn't seem to break any of the limits in place (he's essentially Superman with high-end matter manipulation). If Blair's team attempts to use him in some way that breaks the rules, we'll step in. Otherwise, I don't see how he can do anything that other characters in this tourney can't do.

Also, please note the location of the team's preparation:

Prep Time:
- Each team will have access to a "team lounge" measuring 15x15 meters with a couple of couches, satellite tv, refrigerator, washroom, and an assortment of snacks and drinks for 5 minutes prior to each fight where they can use their prep time. No extending of that prep time via any means (ie speed force or time manipulation).

And the size of the room is not alterable short of action by the Living Tribunal (aka Batdude and I for the context of this tourney). 😐
