I know he's only done it 1-2 times! I'm not debating that he's done it more or less. My point is that he CAN. And HAS. Without any help, IIRC.

And it was also stated that Orion CAN wield the AF by himself, providing he has the experience. Seeing as Simonson's run was his last run, it looks like he has gained much of that experience.

and that's what I said earlier, but then you continued to debate nes pa?

*facepalm*

I was under the impression that when you mention "amped" Orion, Orion getting assistance from someone. Like Kalibak getting amped by DS in DONG. But it's not really like that at all. But as long as we agree, then there isn't anything to debate.

Didn't Grant Morrison officially request that other writers refrain from using New Gods at all while he prepared FC? Once again it seems Morrison was ignored. 😂
That's dc for ya.

I'd rather have Morrison write the NG's than anyone else. At least he gets big ideas and power levels. Simonson would have been cool, too.

Simonson is an awesome writer. I think Morrison hyped the crap out of fc and it failed to deliver.

Overall, his New Gods are the best. From JLA to Seven Soldiers.

I did like Asmodel so I have to give Morrison that much. Did you think fc was a good read or were you expecting more?

Expecting a lot more with the villains. He hyped them as each being more POWERFUL than Galactus. They simply weren't. Overall, I enjoyed the series, until the last issue. It's always the last issue. Hopefully Blackest Night and Siege don't suffer from that. Siege #1 was pretty damn awesome start.

I really thought Mandrakk wasn't needed at all. This was supposed to be Seid as the ultimate threat and out of left field he throws Mandrakk at us.

Most of these epics are more bark than bite. A lot of it has to do with our expectation levels though. I swear the things in life you really are amazed or enjoy come out of left field.

Blackest Night is pretty good so far. And we're already at issue 6.

I was referring mostly to his work in X-Men actually. Everything he's wrote in Marvel more or less has been retconned. I think he had the right idea making Magneto a batty extremist and not some noble crusader who sometimes goes too far in his pursuit of mutant rights. They retconned it and made the situation worse with the whole Xorn thing. Marvel seems to have some weird obsession with attempting to make their villains morally ambiguous and even at times noble (Dr. Doom, Magneto, to a lesser degree Thanos). Sometimes its done right but in the case of Dr. Doom I just can't stomach some of the crap that's been done in an attempt to humanize him. Him crying at ground zero after 9-11? Please, he probably was just pissed that someone else destroyed it before him.

I honestly think that if FC had been paced better it would have been one of the greatest crossovers of the last decade. Just adding two more issues would have made everything flow better. But even that's forgivable for me because Morrison said that incoherence was a major theme of the story. Darkseid's fall was causing time and space to blur and become indistinct.

Not too familiar with anything except save a few stories here and there.

I thought it was a bore from start to finish. It pales in comparison to stories like Annihilation Wave and SC Corps.

Morrison's X-Men was awesome!
