"Fraction has read and enjoyed all of the Demogorge's appearances, but for "Mighty Thor," he's harkening back to the earliest incarnation of the character.

There are different representations of Demogorge, and I didn't want to negate any of them, especially the God Squad stuff from 'Incredible Hercules.' In 'Thor Annual' #10, though, the Demogorge is this giant, massive thing that's literally eating gods. Half of the story takes place in Demogorge's body; it's this crazy being. That's the Demogorge I want to get back to," Fraction remarked. "Demogorge is the primal Sun God Atum ,as well, and I've decided that's the version of Demogorge that moves around and interacts with characters like Hercules. For this story, Demogorge as a notion or an entity is kind of an Eternity-level cosmic concept of the end of godhood."

Finally found it.

Glad Thor is back on his feet. Just keep him away from team books.

"Traveling at an unmentionable speed, the God of Thunder pierces the very fabric of this reality...."

In a mere moment, Thor's consciousness regenerates after surviving an onslaught from the Other's hive agent which should have caused total collapse. His will even impresses Oblivion:

For some comparison, only a small fragment of that force brings Surfer to his knees:

Thor regains himself and creates an Anti-Vortex that resists the pull of the Other's consciousness/Universe in contrast to Surfer:

Thor's spirit is so potent, that absorbing him into his being will add immeasurably to the Other's power:

Mjolnir is able to protect them from an assault from the Other/Scrier/Galactus and channels the power of Rachel/Surfer/Thor into the other 3:

For those who don't know, the Other and Scrier are two Cosmic Beings on the level of Galactus who were destroying creation/reality in a three way fight:

Uses a piece of his essence to mentally project himself into Alter Ego while his body saves Earth from the battle such as casually destroying an Asteroid the size of a mountain:

Thor vs. Surtur with creation on the line:

Something I missed earlier, Thor is able to track the stench of dead Gods across the Universe to Gorr's world at the edge of space:

Aaron surprised me with the use of Thor's senses, been a while since a writer has brought up that aspect of Thor.

Good stuff Rage.

"galaxies passing in a blur", damn wish he did that on his own power. Woulda been a sick travelling "feat".

A Universe away, in deep space, a girl prays to Thor and he almost instantly travels to her world after hearing her. He brings rain to a dead world, carves rivers where there was once deserts and so on:

"Everyone throughout the spaceways says you're the greatest God who's ever lived and that you can do anything...."

Would be nice but as all things his flight depends on plot and under Aaron he can traverse pretty much any distance momentarily if he needs to. We should get more flight speed feats because his Thor apparently can't teleport willy nilly across the Multiverse like some incarnations.

Thor endures nonstop torture at Gorr's hands for 17 days straight, something no God had ever done before:

Eventually breaks free and cuts him down for those who are curious.

To be fair, in this instance, looks like he needed to do some tracking. And you can't stay on a trail if you simply teleport around.

He's used mjolnir to track magic signatures several times, but I prefer the ship to that 🙂

I think it's different if yoi simply zero in on your target and directly teleport to it. It's another thing to chase down a "scent" and follow it to its destination.

Another thing ppl are missing:

"Thor the Avenger held the great wheel steady and called forth The solar storms and all the interstellar winds he could muster to push the flying dragon ship ever faster through the cosmic currents".

Looks like he was using his own power to move the ship. Also looks like he can summon and control more than just atmospheric weather based forces and these are apparently strong enough to accelerate a ship fast enough to move thru entire galaxies in a blur. I mean how fast do you need to be to move thru galaxiez in a blur??

Yeah, Thor was using his control over the elements to move through the spaceways. Thor's always been beyond the regular limits of weather control.

Fair enough.

Tracks a scent into the heart of Mount Wundagore and beyond:

One shots Cerberus after kicking his ass in close combat:

Flies out of the Asgardian continent so fast that he's a blur even to Heimdall and his ridiculous senses:

Thor's godly durability has resisted a variety of forces.

Yeah, Aaron's Thor has almost Superman like senses as it pertains to god-related things (prayers, the "scent" of other gods, etc.)
